The Assyrian Army: II. The Neo-Assyrian Army on Campaign as Reconstructe from the Assyrian Palace Reliefs and the Cuneiform Sources munkacímet viselő páyázat fő célkitűzése egy monografikus munka elkészítése. Az újasszír hadseregre vonatkozó téma feldolgozása egy húszéves kutatás végső feladata. A monográfia elkészítésével párhuzamosan a választott téma első kutatási adatbázisát kívánom létrehozni a rendelkezésre álló írott és képi források együttes feldolgozásával. Mindez tehát a forrásanyag rendszerezését, keresési adatbázist, digitalizált képanyagot és általunk készített tematikus térképeket jelent. Ezen felül, szeretném a már megkezdett műhelymunkát folytatni, amelybe a hazai assziriológiai oktatásban részt vevő egyetemi hallgatók és doktoranduszok is szerepelnek. Mindez a nemzetközi assziriológiai kutatásokban szerepet vállaló tevékenységet jelent hazánk számára, és egyúttal a résztvevők számára ez egy lehetőség publikációk készítésére és kutatások megvalósítására.
Summary
The main aim of our project, the working title of which is The Assyrian Army: II. The Neo-Assyrian Army on Campaign as Reconstructed from the Assyrian Palace Reliefs and the Cuneiform Sources is to prepare the groundwork of a monographic synthesis. The elaboration of the issue of the Assyrian army is the final task of a twenty-year-long research project. Along with the writing of the monograph, I wish to create the first database of the written and pictorial sources. This includes the classification of the sources, the setting up of a search database, digitalized pictorial scenes and thematic maps. In addition to this, I would like to continue our working seminars, in which MA and PhD students were actively involved as well. As this research project comes to a close, Hungary’s growing role in the field of international assyriological research provides an opportunity for publication activity and the preparation of perspective projects.

A hároméves (2012-2015) (100277 jelzetű) Az újasszír hadsereg rekonstrukciója: az asszír hadsereg hadjáraton (az asszír palotadomborművek és írott források alapján) című OTKA pályázat által támogatott kutatómunka eredményeként számos tudományos közlemény és konferencia előadás mellett egy monografikus feldolgozás született (Dezső, Tamás, The Assyrian Army: II. The Neo-Assyrian Army on Campaign as Reconstructed from the Assyrian Palace Reliefs and the Cuneiform Sources), amely kézirat formájában elkészült és várhatóan 2015. júniusában fog megjelenni az Eötvös Kiadó gondozásában.

The Reconstruction of the Neo-Assyrian Army: The Assyrian Army on Campagin (based on the Neo-Assyrian Palace Reliefs and Written Sources) was a three-year research project (2012-2015) that gave birth to several publications, conference speeches and a monograph (Dezső, Tamás, The Assyrian Army: II. The Neo-Assyrian Army on Campaign as Reconstructed from the Assyrian Palace Reliefs and the Cuneiform Sources), the manuscript of which is accomplished and the volume will be published in June of 2015 at the Eötvös University Press.
