A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései szakemberek számára Itt írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit a témában jártas szakember számára. A pályázat célja egy olyan könyv szerkesztése és megjelentetése, mely az ukrán nyelv történetének kutatásához nyújt új információkat. A kiadvány két részből állna. Az első rész tartalmazná a XVI. századi ukrán prédikációs nyelv, a "prosta mova" egyik legfontosabb képviselőjének, az OSZK-ban található Szkotarszkei Tanító Evangéliumnak a bemutatását. A bázis az a - még írógépen született - disszertáció, mely e nyelvemlék hangtani és alaktani elemzését tartalmazza. (A magyar nyelvű értekezés eddig publikálatlan rendezett nyelvtörténeti forrásanyagot jelent.) Ez a szöveg egészülne ki a nyelvemlékről megjelent néhány újabb közleményemmel, melyek különféle szövegszerkesztőkkel és nyelveken lettek rögzítve. A második részt az SZTE Klebelsberg Könyvtárában őrzött Szegedi Mineának szentelném. A kéziratról szintén több írásom készült; ezek egybeszerkesztése és nyelvi egységesítése kiegészülne olyan fejezetekkel, melyek máig publikálatlanok. Korábban kiadtam mindkét nyelvtörténeti forrás szövegét (kommentárokkal), azzal a megjegyzéssel, hogy a szövegek elemzésének külön kötetet fogok szentelni. A megígért mű ez a tanulmánygyűjtemény.
Mi a kutatás alapkérdése? Ebben a részben írja le röviden, hogy mi a kutatás segítségével megválaszolni kívánt probléma, mi a kutatás kiinduló hipotézise, milyen kérdéseket válaszolnak meg a kísérletek. A Szkotarszkei Tanító Evangélium szövegét 1997-ben, a Szegedi Mineáét 1999-2001-ben adtam ki. (Utóbbi szövegkiadás egyéni OTKA-pályázat keretében történt.) Mindkét mű előszavában azt írtam, hogy a kódexek nyelvi elemzését külön kötetben fogom közreadni. Az elemző leírások párhuzamos megjelentetése azért is különösen izgalmas, mert a két forrás nyelvileg két külön világot jelent. A Szkotarszkei Evangélium nyelve a népihez közeli "prosta mova", a Szegedi Mineáé pedig az archaikus egyházi szláv. Helyesírási szempontból viszont szinte egyáltalán nincs különbség a két mű között. Mindez különleges lehetőséget nyújt annak megmutatására, mennyit képes elrejteni a korabeli nyelvből a tradicionális írásmód.
Mi a kutatás jelentősége? Röviden írja le, milyen új perspektívát nyitnak az alapkutatásban az elért eredmények, milyen társadalmi hasznosíthatóságnak teremtik meg a tudományos alapját. Mutassa be, hogy a megpályázott kutatási területen lévő hazai és a nemzetközi versenytársaihoz képest melyek az egyediségei és erősségei a pályázatának! A két XVI. századi kézirat szövegének különböző szempontok szerint feldolgozott anyaga jelentős mennyiségű új forrásanyagot bocsát a kutatók rendelkezésére. Külön ki szeretném emelni, hogy mindkét kézirat nyelvi leírását helyesírási elemzés előzi meg, mely elengedhetetlen az olvasott szóalakok helyes értelmezéséhez. (A helyesírás vizsgálatához arra a monográfiára tudok támaszkodni, melyet a Magyarországon őrzött ukrán egyházi kéziratok ortográfiájáról jelentettem meg.)
A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Ebben a fejezetben írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit alapműveltséggel rendelkező laikusok számára. Ez az összefoglaló a döntéshozók, a média, illetve az érdeklődők tájékoztatása szempontjából különösen fontos az NKFI Hivatal számára. A pályázat egy tanulmánygyűjtemény összeállítását és megjelentetését tűzi ki célul. A tervezett könyv két XVI. századi ukrán kódex szövegének nyelvi elemzését tartalmazza. Az OTKA-pályázat jogosságát az is alátámasztja, hogy Magyarországon található nyelvemlékekről van szó. A tanulmánygyűjtemény annak a munkának a folytatását jelenti, melynek eredményeként a két kódex szövege nyomtatásban már megjelent.
Summary
Summary of the research and its aims for experts Describe the major aims of the research for experts. The aim of the present project is to edit and publish a book that gives us information on and help with the research of the history of the Ukrainian language. The book would contain two parts. The first part includes the Skotarske Gospel Homiliar kept in the National Széchényi Library (OSZK) and which is one of the most significant records of the ’prosta mova’, an Ukrainian language used for preaching in the 16th century. Its basis is a dissertation, - written on a typewriter -, which contains the phonetic and morphological analysis of this manuscript. (The dissertation in Hungarian is a historical lingistic source not published so far.) This text would be enlarged with some of my latest articles that were made in different languages using different word processing systems. The second part would be dedicated to the Szeged Minea kept in Klebelsberg Library of the University of Szeged. I have already published several studies on this manuscript; they would be re-edited and linguistically uniformed, moreover completed with chapters that have not been published until present day. Earlier I published the text of both manuscripts (with commentaries) with the remark that I would dedicate a separate book to the analysis of the texts of the manuscripts later. The promised book would be this book of studies.
What is the major research question? Describe here briefly the problem to be solved by the research, the starting hypothesis, and the questions addressed by the experiments. I published the text of the Skotarske Gospel Homiliar in 1997 and that of the Szeged Minea in 1999-2001. (This latter text edition was possible with the kind help of an individual OTKA project.) In the forewords of both books I promised the linguistic analysis of the codexes in a separate book. The parallel edition of the analyses is especially exciting because the two manuscripts represent two absolutely different worlds. The language of the Skotarske Gospel Homiliar is the ’prosta mova’, so close to the language of simple people; the language of the Szeged Minea, however is archaic Church Slavic. But from the viewpoint of orthography there are almost no differences between the manuscripts. All this gives us a unique chance to show how much traditional orthography can conceal from the language of that time.
What is the significance of the research? Describe the new perspectives opened by the results achieved, including the scientific basics of potential societal applications. Please describe the unique strengths of your proposal in comparison to your domestic and international competitors in the given field. The analysis of the two 16th century manuscripts gives a lot of new source material to researchers. I would especially emphasize that the linguistic description of both manuscripts is preceded by orthographical analysis, which is indispensable for the correct understanding of the written word forms. (In order to analyse the orthography I can rely on the monography that I published on the orthography of the Ukrainian Church Slavic manuscripts kept in Hungary.)
Summary and aims of the research for the public Describe here the major aims of the research for an audience with average background information. This summary is especially important for NRDI Office in order to inform decision-makers, media, and others. The aim of the project is to edit and publish a book of studies that includes the linguistic analysis of the texts of two 16th century Ukrainian codexes. The reason for my applying for OTKA-support is that the manuscripts are kept in Hungary. The book of studies is the continuation of the work that resulted in publishing the texts of the two codexes.

A pályázat tárgya egy olyan kiadvány megjelentetése, mely két XVI. századi Magyarországon őrzött kéziratról (a Szkotarszkei Tanító Evangéliumról és a Szegedi Mineáról) írott tanulmányokat tartalmaz. Ezek a tanulmányok korábban különböző szövegszerkesztőkkel és különböző nyelveken (magyarul, oroszul és ukránul) készültek, ráadásul az ún. prosta mova egyik legfontosabb emlékének, a Szkotarszkei Evangéliumnak a nyelvi elemzése mind ez ideig publikálatlan maradt.
Valamennyi fejezet orosz nyelvre való fordítása, a következtetések és lábjegyzetek frissítése, az egységes kötetté szerkesztés megtörtént. Reményeink szerint ezt a könyvet haszonnal forgathatják majd mindazok, akik az ukrán nyelv történetét kutatják.
Results in English
The objective of this project was to publish a book which contains studies on two 16th century Ukrainian manuscripts (Skotarske Gospel Homiliar and Szeged Minea) kept in Hungary. The studies earlier were written using different word processing techniques in different languages (in Hungarian, Russian and Ukrainian), however, the language analysis of the Skotarske Homiliar (an outstandingly important record of the so called prosta mova) have remained unpublished up to the present time.
All the chapters have been translated into Russian, updated (see new conclusions and footnotes) and edited into a compact volume. This book, hopefully, will mean an important source for researchers into the history of the Ukrainian language.
