Itt írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit a témában jártas szakember számára.
Jelen pályázat egy az OTKA által korábban (2002-2006 és 2007-2012 között) támogatott kutatás folytatása. A mondott kutatás keretében egy olyan interneten keresztül lekérdezhető adatbázist terveztünk, mely 16-18. századi hungarika jellegű albumbejegyzések adatait tartalmazza (Inscriptiones Alborum Amicorum, http://iaa.bibl.u-szeged.hu/ ; DOI: 10.14232/iaa). A munka az utolsó pályázati ciklus lezárása után is folytatódott. Adatbázisunkból ennek következtében jelenleg 12.000 (feldolgozott és a bejegyzés eredeti nyelvén teljességgel átírt) autográf érhető el. Sikeres pályázat esetén legfőbb feladatunk a munka folytatása lenne. Ennek keretében a pályázati időszak végére szeretnénk elérni a 16.000-es nagyságrendet. A feltöltés munkáján kívül szeretnénk még könyvtári-, levéltári kutatásokat is folytatni, elsősorban a külföldi, ausztriai, német, szlovákiai és erdélyi gyűjteményekben. Munkánk célja a hungarika jellegű albumok, bejegyzések további felkutatása, fotóztatása lenne. A program karbantartása, illetve továbbfejlesztése újabb programozói feladatokat is jelent.
Mi a kutatás alapkérdése?
Ebben a részben írja le röviden, hogy mi a kutatás segítségével megválaszolni kívánt probléma, mi a kutatás kiinduló hipotézise, milyen kérdéseket válaszolnak meg a kísérletek.
Munkánk során kiadatlan 16-18. századi kéziratos emlékkönyvi bejegyzéseket tervezünk fedolgozni egy általunk épített adatbázisban. A mondott kéziratok jelentős részben latin, kisebb részben német nyelvűek, de valójában a legtöbb modern európai nyelv előfordul az albumokban, ahogy gyakran találkozunk héber és görög nyelvű inscriptiókkal is. Ezeket eredeti nyelven, az eredeti ábécék alkalmazásával írjuk át, és ugyanígy járunk el a viszonylag ritkán előforduló szír, perzsa, arab, tamil, kopt, szlovén vagy épp román nyelvű szövegrészekkel. Az adatbázisban megtörténik a bevitt anyag egyfajta megszólaltatása is, amennyiben azonosítjuk az egykori albumtulajdonosokat és bejegyzőket, illetve megadjuk a bejegyzésekben citált különféle szövegrészek általunk felkutatott forrásadatait. Az így kapott adathalmaz az összetett keresések révén a legkülönbözőbb tudományágak (irodalom-, művelődés-, zene-, eszmetörténet stb.) számára hasznosan lesz megfaggatható.
Mi a kutatás jelentősége?
Röviden írja le, milyen új perspektívát nyitnak az alapkutatásban az elért eredmények, milyen társadalmi hasznosíthatóságnak teremtik meg a tudományos alapját. Mutassa be, hogy a megpályázott kutatási területen lévő hazai és a nemzetközi versenytársaihoz képest melyek az egyediségei és erősségei a pályázatának!
Adatbázisunkban a felhasználók számára valóban nagy adatmennyiség válik lekérdezhetővé. Az adatok jobbára a 16-18. századi Magyarország értelmiségéről, annak kapcsolati hálójáról informálnak, többek között a külföldiekkel való kapcsolatokról, de az inscriptiók azonosított forrásadatai révén képet alkothatunk az egykori bejegyzők irodalmi, vallási, filozófiai stb. orientációjáról is. Albumokkal természetesen bőségesen foglalkoztak már korábban is, elemezték azok eszme- és irodalomtörténeti jelentőségét, de a teljesség igényével soha senki nem vállalkozott a hungarika anyag feltárására.
A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára
Ebben a fejezetben írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit alapműveltséggel rendelkező laikusok számára. Ez az összefoglaló a döntéshozók, a média, illetve az érdeklődők tájékoztatása szempontjából különösen fontos az NKFI Hivatal számára.
A kutatás során 16-18. századi emlékkönyvek hungarika jellegű bejegyzéseit dolgozzuk fel (végső soron publikáljuk) egy adatbázisban. Ezen emlékkönyvek jelentős részben peregrinációs emlékkönyvek, olyan albumok tehát, melyeket külföldi egyetemi tanulmányaik alatt vezettek az egykori hungarus diákok, s így dokumentumai külföldi kapcsolataiknak, az őket tanulmányaik során (és később) ért különféle intellektuális hatásoknak. Gyakorlatilag kiadatlan, jobbára latin, német nyelvű kéziratokról van szó, de a régi albumokban persze a korabeli Európa összes vulgáris nyelvén találunk bejegyzéseket, ahogy találunk héberül, görögül, szírül, perzsául, arabul megfogalmazott szövegrészeket is. A bejegyzők autográfjaikban a számukra fontos irodalmi, filozófiai stb. szövegeket idézték, s mi munkánk során ezen szövegek forrásadatait is beazonosítjuk. Adatbázisunk így egy olyan koraújkori Facebook-hoz hasonlít, amely tájékoztat az adatbázisban megtalálható személyek irodalmi, filozófiai stb. érdeklődéséről. Az összetett keresési lehetőségek révén ezen adatok tetszőlegesen csoportosítva kérdezhetők le. Izgalmas kérdések esetén pedig akár nagyon izgalmas válaszokat is kaphatnak majd a felhasználók, vagyis az irodalom, művelődéstörténet, zenetörténet, eszmetörténet stb. kutatói.

The current application is a sequel to a research that has been previously funded by OTKA (between 2002-2006 and 2007-2012). The goal of this research project was to create a database of 16th-18th century album amicorum entries of Hungarian relevance (Inscriptiones Alborum Amicorum, http://iaa.bibl.u-szeged.hu/ ; DOI: 10.14232/iaa). Work was continued after the closure of the latest application cycle. Thus, now 12,000 autographs (processed and transcribed in the entries’ original language) are available in our database. In case of a successful application, our primary purpose would be to continue this work. During the proposed term we would like to reach a volume of 16,000 processed entries. Besides uploading information, we would also carry out library and archival research, predominantly in foreign, Austrian, German, Slovakian and Transylvanian collections. Our objective is to search and photograph albums and entries of Hungarian relevance. The maintenance and further development of the software involves new tasks for our programmer as well.
What is the major research question?

During our work we plan to process 16th-18th century manuscript album amicorum entries of Hungarian relevance in our proprietary database. The majority of the mentioned manuscripts are in Latin and German, but most modern European languages are represented in the albums, and Hebrew and Greek inscriptions are rather frequent, too. These are recorded in their original language using the original alphabets, and the same process is followed in the case of the relatively scarce Syrian, Persian, Arabic, Tamil, Copt, Slovenian or Romanian texts. The material processed in the database is also, to some extent, interpreted in that we identify the album owners and the inscribers, and we also provide source information (based on our research) concerning the various passages cited in the inscriptions. The resulting data can be searched in a way that makes it useful for different fields of scholarship (literary history, intellectual history, musical history, history of ideas etc.).
What is the significance of the research?

The significance of the research is that an enormous amount of data will be searchable by users. This data provides a wealth of information about 16th-18th c. intellectuals in Hungary, about their international contacts among other things. The identified sources of inscription texts provide detailed insight also about their literary, religious and philosophical etc. orientation. Such albums have been investigated before, from the point of view of their intellectual and literary historical significance, but no investigation has ever aimed to process the material of Hungarian relevance comprehensively.

Our research project aims to process entries in 16th-18th century album amicorum of Hungarian relevance (and to publish it) in a database. The majority of these albums belong to peregrines, albums which were led by Hungarus students, serving as documents for the given students foreign contacts and for the intellectual influences they were exposed to during their studies (or later). In fact, this is a vast corpus of unpublished, predominantly Latin and German manuscripts, but the albums contain entries in almost all the vernacular languages of early modern Europe, along with passages in Hebrew, Greek, Syrian, Persian, Arabic. The autographs of the inscribers cite literary, philosophical etc. texts which were important for them, and it is a part of our work to identify the source of these texts. Therefore, our database is like an early modern Facebook which sheds light on the literary, philosophical etc. preferences of the persons in the database. With the help of complex searches, the information can be searched in groups reflecting our own needs. Exciting questions are bound to yield exciting answers for the users, that is, for experts in the history of literature and music, intellectual history, or history of ideas.
