Nagy területű, 6 inch átmérőjű, félig átlátszó, tartós perovszkit fotovoltaikus cellát fogunk fejleszteni, amelynek hatékonysága 13% fölötti és moduláris építőelemként is használható. A modulok továbbá hagyományos szilícium alapú napelemekkel kombinálva 18% fölötti, akár 25%-ot is megközelítő hatásfokúak lehetnek.

Mi a kutatás alapkérdése?
Ebben a részben írja le röviden, hogy mi a kutatás segítségével megválaszolni kívánt probléma, mi a kutatás kiinduló hipotézise, milyen kérdéseket válaszolnak meg a kísérletek.
A projektnek négy fókuszterülete lesz: (1) hangolható színű és optikai áteresztőképességű perovszkit anyagú elektródák fejlesztése, (2) magas minőségű, optikailag átlátszó töltéshordozó transzportréteg fejlesztése, (3) nagy területre alkalmazható bevonási technológiai fejlesztése, (4) a perovszkit modul tokozása és megbízhatósáágnak tesztelése.

Mi a kutatás jelentősége?
Röviden írja le, milyen új perspektívát nyitnak az alapkutatásban az elért eredmények, milyen társadalmi hasznosíthatóságnak teremtik meg a tudományos alapját. A projekt egyesíti a perovszkit napelem modulok kutatását, fejlesztését és a rájuk épülő termékek fejlesztését. Emellett aktívan hozzájárul az EU és Taiwan közötti, kölcsönös előnyökkel járó együttműködéshez. A hálózat négy tagja közötti érdemi kooperáció révén a projekt át fogja hidalni a területen ma tapasztalható szakadékot, ami a laboratóriumi és a végfelhasználói (kereskedelmi forgalmú) tudásanyagban tapasztalható.

Ebben a fejezetben írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit alapműveltséggel rendelkező laikusok számára. Ez az összefoglaló a döntéshozók, a média, illetve az érdeklődők tájékoztatása szempontjából különösen fontos az NKFI Hivatal számára.
A projektet alapvetően a tandem napelemek szalagfüggönybe integrálásának kereskedelmi hasznosíthatósága motiválja, amihez az átlátszó perovszkit fotovoltaikus modulok fejlesztése kritikus fontosságú, de jelenleg még nem érett meg az ipari alkalmazásra. A sérülékeny perovszkitokra alapozott, de mégis kellően jó minőségű és nagy területű elektródamodulok készítése egyelőre nem megoldott. Projektünk célja egy 6 inch átmérőjű, 13%-ot meghaladó hatásfokú fotovoltaikus modul készítése, amely a közeli infravörös tartományban átlátszó és hangolható színű.

We are proposing to develop large-area semi-transparent 6-inch durable perovskite photovoltaic modules with power conversion efficiency (PCE) over 13%. The modules can be directly used as building units. Moreover, they can be stacked with silicon solar cells for an expected PCE over 18% and approaching 25%.

What is the major research question?
Describe here briefly the problem to be solved by the research, the starting hypothesis, and the questions addressed by the experiments.
The study of this project will focus on four subjects: (1) development of perovskite materials with tuneable colour and optical transmission and transparent electrode, (2) development of high quality and optical transparent carrier (electron and hole) transporting materials, (3) development of large-area coating techniques for module demonstration and (4) encapsulation and reliability test of the perovskite solar module.

What is the significance of the research?
Describe the new perspectives opened by the results achieved, including the scientific basics of potential societal applications. Please describe the unique strengths of your proposal in comparison to your domestic and international competitors in the given field.
This project combines research, technology and product development of perovskite solar cell modules and encourages a unique European-Taiwanese cooperation in new areas of mutual benefits. The in-depth collaboration will be established among the researchers in this network of four members. This project will bridge the current gap existing between pure laboratory development and end users manufacturing commercial products.

The motivation for this proposal comes from the market targets of curtain walls and tandem solar cell system. For achieving these goals, the development of a semi-transparent perovskite solar module is extremely critical. However, the state-of-art technology is still far behind for this goal. Obtaining a high quality and large-area transparent electrode from the vulnerable perovskites has always been challenging, yet never realized.The present project aims to solve these problems and achieve the goals semi-transparent large-area perovskite solar module on 6” substrate with PCE over 13% and lifetime over 10 years. The module will be highly transparent in the near infrared region and feature tunable colors.

A kutatás M-ERA.Net2 nemzetközi együttműködésben valósult meg, a Szegedi Tudományegyetemnek holland és taiwani partnerei voltak. A pályázatban előre definiált munkamegosztás szerint a magyar kutatók a napelemek transzport rétegeiben használható félvezető nanorészecskék fejlesztéséért feleltek. Új eredményeink egyik nagy csoportja ahhoz köthető, hogy módszereket dolgoztunk ki titanát és szén nanoszerkezezek nitrogén dópolására. Kísérletet tettünk a perovszkit napelem cellák mikro-CT vizsgálatára. Bár az aktív réteg nem volt így vizsgálható felbontási problémák miatt, más fotovoltaikában is hasznosítható cellaalkotók jellemzésére jól tudtuk alkalmazni. Ritkaföldfémekkel dópolt stroncium-aluminát foszforokat fejlesztettünk, és részletesen vizsgáltuk őrlési, gerjesztési, regenerálási és fémcsere tulajdonságaikat. Szén nanoszerkezetekhez kapcsolódó szakértelmünkre alapozva egy új iránnyal, a grafén - diketopolipirrol hibrid vékonyrétegek fejlesztésével támogattuk a taiwani NTU partner szerves félvezetők fejlesztésére irányuló törekvéseit.

This project was undertaken in an international cooperation between the University of Szeged and Dutch and Taiwanese partners in the M-ERA.Net2 framework. According to the pre-defined workplan the main task of the Hungarian researchers was the development of semiconductor nanoparticles potentially applicable in the transport layers of perovskite solar cells. A large set of our new results was achieved in developing methods for the nitrogen doping of titanate and carbon nanostructures. We have also attempted using micro-CT to characterize the active layer of perovskite solar cells. Even though this turned out to be impossible because of resolution limitations, we have succeeded in using micro-CT to characterize other structural elements that can find applications in photovoltaics. We developed rare earth metal doped strontium aluminate phosphors and studied their mechanical degradation, excitation, regeneration and metal substitution properties in great detail. Based on our carbon nanomaterial expertise we have supplemented the organic semiconductor development work of our Taiwanese partner NTU by developing novel graphene - diketopolypyrrol hybrid thin layers.
