A projekt az RR Lyraek es az exobolygok teruleten hozott uj eredmenyeket. A kutatasok mindket teruleten kulonbozo tipusu megfigyeleseket szintetizalnak, beleertve az ureszkozokkel vegzetteket is. RR Lyrae valtozok kapcsan: - Mas/korabbi vizsgalatokkal ellentetben, a periodikus amplitudo- es fazis-modulacio (a Blashko effektus) nagyon altalanos, es valoszinu, hogy minden RR Lyrae csillag mutatja ezt a jelenseeget (a Kepler K2 adatai alapjan). - Osszehasonlitottuk a Gaia harmadik adatkibocsatasa alapjan szamitott luminozitasokat a pulzacios/fejlodesi modellek alapjan kapottakkal. Exobolygok kapcsan: - Megmertuk ket forro Jupiter emisszivitasat a kozeli infravoros savban.
Results in English
This project has led to new results in two fields: RR Lyraes and exoplanets. In both fields most of the studies synthesize various types of observations, including those acquired by space-based instruments. In the context of RR Lyrae stars: - Confronting other/earlier investigations, periodic amplitude- and phase-modulation (the Blazhko effect) is very common, and likely all RR Lyrae stars show this phenomenon (based on the data from the Kepler K2 mission). - We compared the luminosities derived from the parallaxes of the third data release by the Gaia satellite with those estimated from pulsation/evolutionary theories. With 2% residual scatter for the bright part of the sample, the agreement is stunningly good. - We pointed out that the current methodology in deriving chemical abundances for RR Lyrae stars suffer from significant systematic effects due to the strong correlation between the metallicity and gravity. In the context of extrasolar planets: - We measured the thermal emissivity of two Hot Jupiters in the near infrared. For WASP-121b this is the only measurement available at 2 microns today. - A new, highly competitive code TRAN_K2 was designed to search for transiting planets in the presence of systematics and stellar variability.
