A kutatás elsősorban a morális felelősség metafizikájának újszerű, etikai megfontolásokból kiinduló feltérképezését célozta. Mivel ennek a megalapozásnak a sikeressége ismeretelméleti megfontolásokon is múlik, ezért az etikai kiindulópont tisztázása egy újszerű ismeretelméleti megközelítés tisztázásával is összefonódott. A szakirodalom alapján elkülönítettem a moralitásnak három modulját, és a három modulhoz más és más morális felelősségfogalmakat rendeltem. A moralitás ún. személyes moduljához kapcsolódó feltétlen felszólítottsághoz kötött morális felelősségfogalomról kimutattam, hogy a létezésébe vetett hit ellenáll bármilyen szkeptikus kihívásnak és bizonyítékok híján is fenntartható. Majd amellett érveltem, hogy ez a felszólítottság- és felelősségfogalom egyaránt fenomenológiai tartalmakra támaszkodik, ezért megfelelő bizonyítékként szolgálnak létezésére a belső tapasztalat leírására támaszkodó érvek, és ezek az érvek megfelelő alapot nyújtanak arra is, hogy a feltétlen felszólítások és a hozzájuk kapcsolódó morális felelősség metafizikai feltételének a libertariánus értelemben vett (alternatív lehetőségeket magában foglaló és a determinizmussal összeegyeztethetetlen) szabad akarat létezését tekintsük.
A libertariánus szabad akarattal kapcsolatos legfontosabb ellenvetéseket megválaszoltam tanulmányaim eredményeinek nagy részét összefoglaló monográfiámban, és bemutattam a mellette szóló legerősebb érveket (fenomenológiai, morális és metafilozófiai) is.

The research was primarily aimed at mapping the metaphysics of moral responsibility in a novel way that is based on ethical considerations. Since the success of this enterprise also depends on epistemological considerations, the clarification of the ethical basis of this philosophical enterprise was intertwined with the clarification of a novel epistemological approach. Based on the literature, I separated three modules of morality and assigned different concepts of moral responsibility to the three modules. I showed about a concept of moral responsibility, which is linked with both the „personal module” of moral responsibility and categorical imperatives, that the belief in its existence resists any skeptical challenge and can be sustained even in the absence of evidence. I then argued that these „personal" concepts of categorical imperative and moral responsibility are both based on phenomenological content, and therefore arguments based on the description of the inner experience provide adequate evidence for its existence; and, what is more, phenomenological arguments provide a suitable basis for the claim according to which libertarian free will is a metaphysical condition for having this kind of moral responsibility.
I answered the most important objections to libertarian free will in my monograph summarizing most of the results of my papers, and presented the strongest arguments in favor of it (phenomenological, moral, and metaphilosophical).
