A főváros piac-rendszerének kialakulását vizsgálókutatásomat a HUN-REN BTK TTI-ben végeztem. 2024 végén a BFL kiadásábanmegjelent egy közel 30 íves monográfiám, Az éhes Budapest címmel. EbbenBudapest első világháborús élelmezés-politikáját mutatom be. A témának különösaktualitást adtak a Covid járvány nyomán hozott gazdasági lépések. Emellett akutatómunkám a piac-rendszer kiépülésének folyamatára koncentrált. Bár maga acsarnok-rendszer századfordulós megépülése ismert volt már, sem a korábbi évekműködési mechanizmusait, sem pedig a kiépült csarnok-rendszer mindennapjait nemismertük, a két világháború közötti időszak pedig teljesen fehér folt volt atudomány számára. A téma másik ágát a főváros azon, rendkívül széleskörűtevékenységének a feltárása jelentette, amely a háttérből próbálta azévszázadok óta működő, spontán ellátási rendszereket megerősíteni, moderntermelési technikák terjedésének támogatásával, szociális kertek alapításával,vagy a parlagon lévő földeken a konyhakerti termesztés terjedésénekelőmozdításával. Ezeket egészítette ki Budapest a gazdaságba is beavatkozó„községesítő” tevékenységével, amikor 1913-ban megalapította a KözségiKonyhakert Gazdaságát, majd a Hatósági Zöldségárusító Üzemet. A várospolitika mindezzelhol korszakalkotót, hol pedig alig látható eredményeket ért el. Mégis a mavárospolitikusai számára is komoly érdeklődésre tart számot, amit a témábantartott konferenciák nyomán megmutatkozó érdeklődés is visszaigazolt.

I conducted my research on the formation of capital’s market-system at the HUN-
REN BTK TTI. At the end of 2024,my 30-sheetmonograph, entitled Hungary
Budapest, was published by BFL.I describe Budapest’s food policy during World
War I. in that book.This was a topical issue because of the economic steps taken in
the wake of the Covid-19.In addition, my research focused on the process of
building the market system. Although the construction of covered markets during the
turn of the century was already known, we did not know either the operating
mechanisms of the previous years or the everyday life of the established market
system, and the period between the two world wars was a blind spot for science. The
other part of the topic was theexploration of the extremely broad activities of the
capital, which tried to strengthen the supply systems that had been operating for
centuries from the background, such as supporting the spread of modern production,
techniques, establishing social gardens, or promoting the spread of kitchen garden
cultivation on fallow lands. Budapest completed these with its “communalizing”
activities when in1913 theKözöségiKonyhakertGazdasága and then the Hatósági
Zöldségárusító Üzem were established. With all this, the municipality achieved some
epoch-making but also some barely visible results. Yet even for today’s municipality
it is a very serious topic, which was also confirmed by the interest shown in the
conferences hold on the topic.
