Summary in Hungarian A projekt keretében támogatott nemzetközi tudományos vagy innovációs rendezvény bemutatása:
Mutassa be a szervezés alatt álló nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, programját, célcsoportját és jelentőségét a nemzetközi, illetve hazai tudományos élet szempontjából, utalva a rendezvényhez kapcsolódó nyílt előadásra is.
A konferencia egyedülálló kezdeményezés a magyar középkorkutatás történetében, amihez hasonlóra az elmúlt harminc évben nem került sor. A Debreceni Egyetem, a Coimbrai Egyetemmel (Portugália) és a Lotaringiai Egyetemmel (Nancy-Metz) közösen szervezi meg a Zsoldosok és keresztesek (1202-1480) interdiszciplináris konferenciát Európa, a témával foglalkozó középkorászai hadtörténészei fiatal kutatói és PhD hallgatói számára. A nemzetközi tudományos élet jeles angol, francia, portugál, spanyol kutatói vesznek részt rajta s vannak benne a szakmai bizottságban és az előadók között. A konferenciát szervező három kutatócsoport történészein kívül a Cergy Paris Egyetemről, az Ecole normale supérieure de Lyon-ból, az Extramaduriai Egyetemről és az Oxfordi Egyetemről vállaltak kollégák szakmai bizottsági tagságot, illetve plenáris előadásokat. A konferencia célja, hogy tered adjon a legújabb kutatási eredményeknek egy olyan témában, mely nem csak Európa minden szegletére terjed ki, de magába foglalja a Földközi-tenger teljes medencéjét, így nyújtva egyedülálló alkalmat Dél-, Nyugat-, Közép- és Kelet-Európa kutatói számára, hogy a konferenciát követően egy tanulmánykötetben publikálják a konferencián elhangzott előadásaikat. A konferencia promóciójára olyan prominens szakmai szervezetek fogadták el felkérésünket és segítenek abban, hogy minél szélesebb körben ismerté tegyék a három kutatócsoport kezdeményezését, mint a Associação Ibérica de História Militar, séculos IV-XVI, a British Comission for Military History, vagy a Medieval Academy of America.

Adjon egy rövid, közérthető ismertetést a szervezés alatt álló nemzetközi rendezvényről és annak várható eredményeiről, utalva a rendezvényhez kapcsolódó nyílt előadásra is.
A Debreceni Egyetem, a Coimbrai és a Lotaringiai Egyetemmel összefogva rendezi meg 2022. június 22-24 között a Zsoldosok és keresztesek (1202-1480) Interdiszciplináris konferenciát, melynek célja, hogy egy olyan platformot nyújtson egész Európából hazánkba érkező neves, a középkorral foglalkozó tudósok, fiatal kutatók és PhD hallgatók számára, ahol be tudják mutatni a témával kapcsolatos legújabb kutatási eredményeiket, meg tudják osztani gondolataikat, melyek segítségével jobban megértjük Magyarország helyét és szerepét a középkori Európában. A nemzetközi tudományos élet jeles angol, francia, portugál, spanyol kutatói vesznek részt rajta s vannak benne a szakmai bizottságban és az előadók között. A konferencián szó lesz, olyan a magyar irodalomban, kultúrában és a nemzeti köztudatban mélyen beágyazott szereplőkről, mint Toldi Miklós, akiről nem csak Ilosvai Selymes Péter és Arany János írt, vagy kevésbé ismert, ugyanakkor legalább annyira izgalmas, színes személyiségek, mint Simone della Morte, azaz Meggyesaljai Morócz Simon. A hazai szakmában a Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem hadtörténészei, hadászattal foglalkozó kutatói is képviseltetik magukat. Különös figyelmet szentelünk a tehetséggondozásnak, doktoranduszok, hallgatók segítik a szervezési munkát, és elő is adnak.
| Summary Presentation of the international scientific or innovation event supported in the project:
Present the type, purpose, agenda, target audience of the international event organized and its sigificance in the international and domestic scientific community. Refer to the public lecture to be organised in connection with the event.
The conference is a unique initiative in the history of Hungarian medieval studies, the like of which has not been seen in the last thirty years.The University of Debrecen, together with the University of Coimbra and the University of Lorraine, is organizing the interdisciplinary conference on Mercenaries and Crusaders (1202-1480) for Europe's leading medieval military historians, literary scholars, young researchers and PhD students. Nothing better testifies to the conference's place in international academic life than the list of the professional committee and keynote speakers. In addition to the historians from the three research groups organising the conference, colleagues from CY Cergy Paris University, Ecole normale supérieure de Lyon, the University of Extramaduria and Oxford University took on the role of members of the scientific committee and speakers in the plenary sessions. The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for the latest research on a topic that not only covers all corners of Europe, but also the entire Mediterranean basin, thus offering a unique opportunity for researchers from Southern, Western, Central and Eastern Europe to publish their papers in a post-conference volume. Prominent professional organizations such as the Associação Ibérica de História Militar, séculos IV-XVI, the British Commission for Military History, and the Medieval Academy of America have accepted our invitation to promote the conference and help to make the initiative of the three research groups as widely known as possible.
Summary and aims of the project for a general audience

The University of Debrecen, in collaboration with the University of Coimbra and the University of Lorraine, will organise the Interdisciplinary Conference on Mercenaries and Crusaders (1202-1480) from 22-24 June 2022, which aims to provide a forum for renowned medieval scholars, young researchers and PhD. It is a platform for scholars and young scientists from all over the world interested in medieval studies, young scholars and students, to present their latest research on the subject and share their ideas to help us better understand Hungary's place and role in medieval Europe. The conference will also discuss figures deeply embedded in Hungarian literature, culture and national consciousness, such as Toldi Miklós , who is not only mentioned by Ilosvai Selymes Péter. or Arany János , but who has just produced a large-scale cartoon series, or lesser-known, but at the same time equally exciting, colourful characters such as Simone della Morte, i.e. Meggyesaljai Morócz Simon, who, of all the foreign and Italian mercenary captains who visited and played an active role in Italy, was the only one to bear the name of death in his name in the 14th century.
