Summary in Hungarian A projekt keretében támogatott nemzetközi tudományos vagy innovációs rendezvény bemutatása:
Mutassa be a szervezés alatt álló nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, programját, célcsoportját és jelentőségét a nemzetközi, illetve hazai tudományos élet szempontjából, utalva a rendezvényhez kapcsolódó nyílt előadásra is.
A Hardwood Conference (Lombosfa Konferencia-sorozat) a Soproni Egyetem, a cseh Mendel University in Brno, az osztrák Wood K Plus és a Faipari Tudományos Egyesület közös szervezésében jött létre. A konferencia hosszú utat tett meg a 2003-as évi első rendezvény óta.
Hazánk fagazdaságára jellemző a lombosfák igen magas (kb. 85%) részaránya. Ugyanakkor az európai fafeldolgozó ipar is kihívásként éli meg a lombos faanyagok feldolgozását. Számos oka van, hogy a lombos faanyagok feldolgozása egyre fontosabb szerephez jut Európában. A legfontosabbak az erdőgazdálkodási módszerek megváltozása, az ökológiai szempontok fokozottabb érvényesülése, és a lombosfa erdők részarányának növekedése. A konferencia stratégiai célja, hogy segítse a lombos faanyagot feldolgozó ipar és a kutató-oktató intézmények összeurópai hálózatának kiépülését.
A konferencia résztvevőinek száma az utóbbi években 80 fő körül mozgott.
A 2021-ben megrendzett eseményen a világ 22 országának (4 kontinensről) 32 intézménye képviseltette magát (AT, BE, BG, CRO, CZ, ESP, FR, GER, HU, IT, LAT, MAS, NGR, PL, ROU, RUS, SI, SK, SRB, SUI, SUR, VIE). A konferencia résztvevőinek száma 82 fő volt.Szakmánk, ill. a tudományág jövőjére nézve pozitív jelenség, hogy a résztvevők között magas arányban (~40%) voltak jelen fiatal kutatók, köztük szép számmal a Soproni Egyetem doktoranduszai, valamint BSc és MSc hallgatói.
A konferencia előadásainak cikk formátumú összefoglaló művét (proceedings) a Wos is listázza, ami növeli a rendezvényünk rangját és vonzerejét.

A konferencia hosszú utat tett meg a 2003-as évi első rendezvény óta. A lombos faanyagok tematikájának fontossága azóta fokozatosan nő. Mára egyértelmű, hogy az olyan jelentős európai „fa nagyhatalmak”, mint Németország, Ausztria, Svájc vagy a skandináv országok sorra indítják a lombos fagazdálkodással, feldolgozással és termékfejlesztéssel kapcsolatos projektjeiket. A soproni konferencia létjogosultságát bizonyítja a jelentkezők, érdeklődők száma és összetétele.

The Hardwood Conference is a joint organization of the University of Sopron, Mendel University in Brno in the Czech Republic, Wood K Plus in Austria and the Wood Industry Scientific Association. The conference has come a long way since its first event in 2003.
The wood industry of Hungary is characterized by a very high share of deciduous trees (about 85%). At the same time, the European wood processing industry also faces the challenge of processing deciduous wood. There are many reasons why the processing of deciduous wood is playing an increasingly important role in Europe. The most important are the changes in forest management methods, the increased prevalence of ecological aspects, and the increase in the share of deciduous forests. The strategic goal of the conference is to help build a pan-European network of hardwood processing industry and research and education institutions.
The number of conference participants has been around 80 in recent years.
At the event in 2021, 32 institutions from 22 countries of the world (from 4 continents) were represented (AT, BE, BG, CRO, CZ, ESP, FR, GER, HU, IT, LAT, MAS, NGR, PL, ROU, RUS , SI, SK, SRB, SUI, SUR, VIE). The number of participants in the conference was 82. A positive phenomenon for the future of wood industry research is that a high proportion (~ 40%) of the participants were young researchers, including a large number of doctoral students from the University of Sopron and BSc and MSc students.
An article-format summary of the conference presentations (proceedings) is also listed by WoS, which increases the rank and appeal of our event.

The Hardwood Conference (Lombosfa Conference Series) is a joint organization of the Károly Simonyi Faculty of the University of Sopron, the Czech Mendel University in Brno, the Austrian Wood K Plus and the Wood Industry Scientific Association. The conference has come a long way since its first event in 2003. The importance of the topic of deciduous wood has been gradually increasing since then. It is now clear that major European “tree superpowers” such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland or the Scandinavian countries are launching their projects on deciduous timber management, processing and product development. The legitimacy of the Sopron conference is proved by the number and composition of applicants and interested parties.
