A projekt 2022. szeptember 19 - 23. között valósult meg a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem szervezésében. A konferencián 12 külföldi országból, 32 magyar és külföldi intézményből 60 előadó részvételével 45 előadás hangzott el az 5 nap során. A szimpózium hozadékaként a tudományos találkozó előadásait két önálló kötetben tervezzük megjelentetni a 2023. év folyamán. Ezzel párhuzamosan a konferenciához kapcsolódó workshop jelentős hozzájárulást nyújtott a Debrecenben (Vikingek a Kárpát-medencében címmel) megrendezett kiállítás szakmai előkészítéséhez. A szakmai program legfontosabb eredményének azonban mindenképp az tekinthető, hogy annak előadásait végig nagy számú hallgatóság kísérte. Az eseményen a budapesti tudományegyetemeken tanuló, doktoráló régészet és történelem szakos hallgatók, kutatók nagy számban vettek részt, mindez pedig az elhangzottak közvetlen felsőoktatási hasznosulását is eredményezte, hiszen az elhangzottak a legfrissebb nemzetközi eredményeket mutatták be a hallgatóságnak. Kimondottan jelentősek voltak e tekintetben az elhangzott áttekintő jellegű plenáris előadások.

The project ran between September 19 - 23, 2022, organized by Pázmány Péter Catholic University. During the 5 days, 45 lectures were given at the conference with the participation of 60 speakers from 12 foreign countries and 32 Hungarian and foreign institutions. As a benefit of the symposium, we plan to publish the presentations of the scientific meeting in two separate volumes in 2023. The workshop, which was linked to the conference, made a significant contribution to the professional preparation of the exhibition in Debrecen („Vikings in the Carpathian Basin”). The most important result of the symposium is definitely the fact that the presentations were attended by a large number of students and researchers. The event was attended by a large number of archeology and history Phd students studying at the universities in Budapest, and all of this has resulted in the direct use in higher education, as what was presented to the audience was the latest international results.
