A kiadvány a Magyarországon előforduló meztelencsigák (összesen 33 faj) monografikus feldolgozása. Ez egy nagyon nehezen határozható állatcsoport, amelyről ennyire átfogó kiadvány még soha nem készült sehol a világon. Az összes fajt igyekeztünk élve megtalálni (majdnem minden esetben sikerült is), standard módszerekkel több oldalról lefotózni, alkoholban konzervált állapotban is lefotózni, valamint fotók és rajzok segítségével az ivarszervek morfológiáját is bemutatni. A könyv segítségével valóban meg lehet határozni a hazai meztelencsiga fajokat, és minden egyéb információ is megtalálható róluk (elterjedés, életmód, károkozás, stb.). A könyv elején a meztelencsigákról általában (evolúció, anatómia, ökológia), Földünk egyéb tájain élő meztelencsigákról is szó van.

The publication is a monographic study of the land slugs (a total of 33 species) found in Hungary. This is a very difficult group of animals to identify, and no such comprehensive publication has ever been made anywhere in the world. We have tried to find all the species alive (and succeeded in almost every case), photograph them from multiple angles using standard methods, photograph them in preserved state in alcohol, and also demonstrate the morphology of their reproductive organs using photos and drawings. With the help of the book, one can truly identify the native land slug species, and all other information about them can also be found (distribution, lifestyle, damage caused, etc.). At the beginning of the book, there is a general overview of land slugs (evolution, anatomy, ecology), and it also discusses land slugs living in other parts of the world.
