Az „Édesvízi gerinctelenek Közép-Európában” című kötet az édesvizekben élő gerinctelen állatokról nyújt teljeskörű áttekintést, ezért jelentősen túllép a hagyományos határozói kereteken. Segítségével nem csupán azonosíthatjuk az édesvizek anyagforgalmában, a biológiai vízminősítésben és a vizek természetes öntisztulásában létfontosságú gerinctelen szervezeteket, hanem részletes ismertetést kapunk életmódjukról és az ökológiai rendszerekben betöltött szerepükről is. A könyv egy általános határozókulccsal kezdődik, amelynek használatával a vizsgált élőlényt egy nagyobb csoportba, taxonba tudjuk besorolni. A könyv ezután az egyes élőlénycsoportok bemutatásával folytatódik. Ebben a részben a taxonspecifikus határozórészek előtt képekkel illusztrált szöveges leírások szerepelnek. A könyvhöz interaktív digitális melléklet és filmgyűjtemény is tartozik.

The issue titled Freshwater Invertebrates in Central Europe gives a comprehensive overview on the invertebrate fauna of the freshwaters. This book not only aids the identification of the invertebrates bearing crucial importance in the matter cycles, the biological assessment and the natural self-purification process of freshwaters, but it also presents a detailed description of their lifestyles and the role they play in the ecosystems. The book begins with a general identification key, which helps to identify the studied specimen to the level of large taxonomic groups. The key contains colour illustrations and photos beside the short textual descriptions so that to ease the identification of the invertebrates. Beside the illustrated keys, the book includes detailed textual descriptions for each discussed group of animals. The book has an digital attachment.
