A kétkötetes kiadvány műfaja régészeti tudományos konferencia- és tematikus tanulmánykötet, magyar és külföldi neves szerzőkkel, két kötetben elrendezve. A cikkek többsége magyar nyelvű, de orosz angol és német nyelvű összefoglalóval minden cikknél és minden képaláírás szintén kétnyelvű. A tágabb értelemben vett magyar őstörténet a kétkötetes megjelentetni kívánt munka témaköre. A színes képekkel gazdagon illusztrált kötetpár a hunoktól az avarokon át a magyar őstörténetig és a honfoglalás korig bezáróan közöl tanulmányokat, melyekben alapvetően a további kutatásokhoz, továbblépéshez elengedhetetlen forrásfeltáró alapkutatások és közlések, valamint a természettudományos vizsgálatok eredményei dominálnak. Röviden összefoglalva elmondhatjuk, hogy az elmúlt 5-8 év valamennyi hazai és nemzetközi régészeti és természettudományos kutatási eredményének a válogatott javát tartalmazza ebben a témakörben a hunoktól az avarokon át a magyarokig és a magyar őstörténetig. A konferencia témájához kapcsolódóan begyűjtöttük a legfontosabb vonatkozó eurázsiai publikációkat, hogy a magyar szakemberek tematikusan kézbe tudják venni a saját kutatásaik eredményes műveléséhez. Az 1400 oldalnyi 70 cikk (közel 130 szerző) magas könyvészeti színvonalon került kiadásra és a magyar régészet kiemelkedő teljesítménye, nemzetközi vonatkozásai miatt pedig a magyar tudomány külföldi elismertségében segít.

The genre of the two-volume publication is archaeological scientific conferences and thematic studies, with Hungarian and foreign renowned authors, arranged in two volumes. Most of the articles are in Hungarian, but Russian with English and German summaries for each article and all captions are also bilingual. Hungarian prehistory in the broader sense is the subject of the two-volume work to be published. This pair of volumes, richly illustrated with colour pictures, contains studies from the Huns through the Avars to Hungarian prehistory and the Age of Conquest, which are dominated by basic research and publications on the sources essential for further research and the results of natural scientific investigations. In short, it can be summarised that the selected results of all national and international archaeological and natural scientific research of the last 5-8 years in this field, from the Huns to the Avars, the Hungarians and Hungarian prehistory, are included. We have collected the most important relevant Eurasian publications related to the theme of the conference, so that Hungarian specialists can thematically get hold of them for the effective cultivation of their own research. The 1400 pages of 70 papers (nearly 130 authors) have been published to a high bibliographical standard and will help to raise the profile of Hungarian archaeology abroad, due to its outstanding achievements and international implications.
