A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos konferencia bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében. A Protostars & Planets konferenciasorozat a csillag- és bolygókeletkezés tudományterületén dolgozó kutatók egyik legfontosabb tudományos rendezvénye. A konferenciasorozat első alkalmának az 1978-ban Tucsonban megrendezett 52. IAU kollokvium (IAUC 52) tekinthető, mely a "Protostars and Planets: Studies of Star Formation and the Origin of the Solar System" címet kapta. A konferencián világossá vált, hogy a tárgyalt tudományterületek (csillagkeletkezés és a Naprendszer kialakulása) egyre inkább eltávolodnak egymástól, ezért szükség lesz a közöttük lévő kapcsolat erősítésére, az esetleges közös kutatási irányokban elért új eredmények időről időre történő megismerésére. Ennek szellemében íródott az első konferenciakiadvány, mely a két terület összes aspektusát lefedte, a kiadvány fejezeteit különféle kutatókból összeállt szerzői csoportok ismertették. A konferenciakiadvány nagy sikert aratott, és 1984-ben egy újabb meeting-en megszületett a PP II könyv. A konferenciasorozat és az annak nyomán születő kiadványok azóta is töretlenül sikeresek, igazodási pontként szolgálnak a két kapcsolódó tudományterület művelői számára. A PP konferenciák és kiadványok hűen nyomonkövették az exobolygók felfedezésén keresztül a tudományterület robbanásszerű fejlődését. A PP VII konferenciát 2021-ben első alkalommal rendezik meg Ázsiában (Kyoto, Japán) a tudományterület japán kutatóhelyeken dolgozó vezető kutatói. A konferencián poszterrel veszek részt, melyben ismertetni fogom a bolygórendszerek kialakulásával kapcsolatos legújabb eredményeimet. A COVID19 világjárvány hatására a nemzetközi együttműködések igen megnehezültek, ez igaz a külföldi tudományos kapcsolataimra is. A PP VII konferencia, amellett, hogy a jelenlegi legújabb tudományos eredményeket megismerem, alkalmas lesz arra, hogy tudományos kapcsolataimat megújítsam, valamit új együttműködésekez építsek ki. A szerzett tapasztalatok és új együttműködések elő fogják segíteni számomra az MTA doktora tudományos cím megszerzését.
A projekt összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Adjon egy rövid, közérthető ismertetést a látogatni tervezett nemzetközi rendezvényről, illetve a részvétel céljáról, várható eredményeiről. Az exobolygók egyre nagyobb számú felfedezése nyomán a csillagok születésének és a bolygók keletkezésének tanulmányozása az asztrofizika egyik legdinamikusabban fejlődő területévé vált. A bolygók az éppen születő csillag körül kialakult gáz és porkorongban keletkeznek, ezért egy csillag születése és a körülötte keringő bolygók kialakulása időben részben átfedő folyamatok során történik. A Protostars and Planets konferenciasorozat a csillagok és bolygók kialakulásával kapcsolatos eredmények közlésének egyik legfontosabb eseménye. A konferenciasorozat első részének az 1978-ban az arizonai Tucsonban rendezett 52. IAU Kollokvium tekinthető. Ezen a konferencián merült fel az ötlet, hogy a fenti két szakterület aktuális, egymással kapcsolatos eredményeit időről időre ismertessék az érdeklődő kutatókkal. Az eredeti kezdeményezés kiállta az idők próbáját, és az elmúlt évtizedekben hat Protostars and Planets konferenciát rendeztek meg. A konferenciákon tartott előadásokról a szűkebb terület vezető kutatóiból összeállt szerzőcsapat írta meg a konferenciakiadvány egy-egy fejezetét. Ezáltal a konferenciakiadványok a két tudományterület fontos összefoglaló és referenciaműveivé váltak az idők során. Az eddig megrendezett Protostars and Planets konferenciák által lefedett idő alatt fedezték fel az első exobolygókat is, mely a csillag és bolygókeletkezéssel kapcsolatos asztrofizikai kutatások robbanásszerű fejlődését hozta el. A Protostars and Planets konferenciák azóta is fontos igazodási pontot jelentenek a csillagok és a bolygók születésével foglalkozó kutatók számára. A konferencián való részvétel nem csak a kutatók eredményeinek közlését, illetve az új eredmények megismerését teszi lehetővé, hanem segít a nemzetközi kapcsolatok és együttműködések kiépítésében, melyek a tudományterület rohamos fejlődése miatt elengedhetetlenek a sikeres szakmai előmenetel szempontjából.
Summary
Presentation of the international scientific conference to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career. The Protostars and Planets conference series are among the most important events of the scientific community working in the field of star and planet formation. The first meeting of the PP conferences was the IAUC 52 organized in 1978 in Tucson entitled "Protostars and Planets: Studies of Star Formation and the Origin of the Solar System". It became clear that the two areas covered (star and planet formation) are more and more diverging, therefore a need emerged to strengthen their connection, moreover, to summarize the results obtained in the common research directions. The first proceedings book was written according to the above ideas covering all aspects of star and planet formation. The chapters of this book were written by teams of several authors. The book proved to be a great success, and soon after the next meeting in 1984, the book PP II was published. Since then, the books of the PP conferences are very successful in serving as references for researchers working in these two fields. The PP conferences also witnessed the extremely fast growth of the various fields of planetary sciences initiated by the discovery of extrasolar planets. The PP VII conference is planned to be organized in 2021 first time in Asia (Kyoto, Japan) by leading scientists affiliated with universities in Japan. At this conference, I would like to present my latest results on the field of planet formation in the poster section. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, international collaborations are facing serious challenges, which is also valid in my case. Besides the opportunity to get the latest scientific results in star and planet formation, PP VII also offers a good opportunity to renew my international collaborations, moreover to also initiate new ones. Regarding my scientific career, these collaborations are essential to me to obtain the DSc title of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, a prerequisite of the full professorship at my home university.
Summary and aims of the project for a general audience Provide a short, general introduction to the international event to be visited, the purpose of the participation, and its expected results. Due to the continuous discovery of extrasolar planets, the formation of stars and planets became one of the most rapidly developing fields of astrophysics. Planets are formed in discs consisting of gas and dust around the protostars, therefore the birth of the star and planets happens during partially time overlapping processes. Thus it is worth studying these processes in a unified paradigm. The Protostars and Planets (PP) series of conferences are the most important scientific events to publish the new results obtained in these fields. The first part of the PP conference series was held in Tucson (USA) as the IAU Colloquium 52. In this conference was raised the idea to organize meetings from time to time making a bridge between the fields of star and planet formation by bringing together interested scientists. This initiative proved to be successful and withstood the test of time, as in the past decades six PP conferences were organized. Based on the invited talks, the chapters of the conference proceedings have been written by teams of authors being all leading experts in their field. As a consequence, these books turned to be important reference points for astronomers. It is noteworthy that during the time span covered by the PP conferences there have been discovered the first extrasolar planets, resulting in the extremely fast growth of the related scientific fields. Participation in these events is very useful for the interested scientists because apart from presenting their results and getting known the most relevant advances in the fields of star and planet formation, these conferences are also good occasions for building international contacts and collaborations that are necessary for obtaining valuable and new results in these rapidly evolving fields. The next conference in this series is Protostars and Planets VII that will be held in March 2022 for the first time in Asia (Kyoto, Japan), and organized by scientists affiliated with universities in Japan.

A projekt a 2023. április 10-15 között Kyoto-ban (Japán) megrendezett Protostars and Planets VII konferencián való részvételemet támogatta. A Protostars and Planets konferenciasorozat a csillag- és bolygókeletkezés tudományterületén dolgozó kutatók egyik legfontosabb, hét évenként megrendezett tudományos rendezvénye. Ezeken a konferenciákon összegyűlik a bolygók kialakulását kutató közösség jelentős része. A meghívott előadók által tartott előadások a tudományterület aktuális helyzetéről adnak igazodási pontot. Emellett igen fontosak a konferencia poszterszekciójában lezajló informális beszélgetések is, melyek során értékes visszajelzést kaphatnak az eredményeiket bemutató kutatók. A konferenciára egy poszterrel utaztam ki, melynek címe "Episodes of planet formation in transient pressure maxima of protoplanetary discs" volt. Munkánk pozitív fogadtatása mellett több hasznos tanácsot kaptam a kutatás folytatására, mely eredményeként egy 2024-ben megjelenő folyóiratcikk született az Astronomy & Astrophysics rangos, tudományos folyóiratban (Sándor, Z., Guilera, O. M., Regály, Z, Lyra, W.: Planetesimal and planet formation in transient dust traps, A&A, 2024).

The project supported my participation in the Protostars and Planets VII conference in Kyoto, Japan, 10-15 April 2023. The Protostars and Planets conference series is one of the most important scientific events for researchers working in the field of star and planet formation, held every seven years. These conferences bring together a significant part of the planet formation research community. Presentations by invited speakers provide a reference point on the state of the art in the field. Also very important are the informal discussions in the poster sessions of the conference, where researchers presenting their results can get valuable feedback. I travelled to the conference with a poster entitled "Episodes of planet formation in transient pressure maxima of protoplanetary discs". In addition to the positive reception of our work, I received several useful suggestions for further research, resulting in a reseach paper which will be published in 2024 in the prestigious scientific journal Astronomy & Astrophysics (Sándor, Z., Guilera, O. M., Regály, Z, Lyra, W.: Planetesimal and planet formation in transient dust traps, A&A, 2024).
