A XII Etilén Szimpózium kiváló lehetőséget biztosított a növényi hormon etilénnel kapcsolatos jelenlegi ismereteim bővítésére. A szimpóziumon, konferencián az etilénkutatás szinte összes meghatározó kutatója vagy kutatócsoportjának tagja megjelent, ami lehetőséget biztosított a saját kutatásaim során felmerült kérdések, problémák megbeszélésére, esetlegesen megvitatására, ami azt gondolom páratlan és megismételhetetlen lehetőségnek tekinthető.
A konferencián többek között találkozhattam Brad Binder, Joseph Kieber, Keith Lindsey, Jose Alonso és Caren Chang amerikai (USA), Dominique Van Der Straeten belga, Hongwei Guo és Chi-Kuang Wen kínai kutatókkal, akik kutatásaikkal az etilén kutatás molekuláris szintjétől a termés érés és tárolásig bezárólag a teljes, hormonhoz kapcsolható kutatási spektrumot lefedték.

The XII Ethylene Symposium provided an excellent opportunity to expand my current knowledge of the plant hormone ethylene. The symposium (conference) was attended by almost all the major researchers or members of their research groups in ethylene research, which provided the opportunity to discuss and possibly resolve the questions and problems that have arisen in my own research, which I believe was a unique and unrepeatable opportunity.
At the conference, I was able to meet Brad Binder, Joseph Kieber, Keith Lindsey, Jose Alonso and Caren Chang from the USA, Dominique Van Der Straeten from Belgium, Hongwei Guo and Chi-Kuang Wen from China, whose research covered the whole spectrum of hormone-related research, from the molecular level of ethylene research to fruit ripening and storage.
