A kutatási időszakra a következő feladatokat vállaltam:
Francis Bacon „Confession of Faith” című írásának fordítását, valamint The Advancement of Learning című könyvének fordítását, kommentálást, utószóval ellátását, és a mű kiadását. Az Új Atlantisz című művének elemzését, illetve három, az életmű egészén végigvonuló téma feltérképezését és fejlődésük, változásuk nyomon követését. Ezek a témák a következők: a tudomány céljai, azaz a tudomány létét igazoló célok; a (tudományos fejlődést megakadályozó) tévedések és hibák a gondolkodás területén; harmadikként pedig melyek is azok a megfontolások, amelyek a tudomány fejlődését szolgálják. Harmadikként monográfiám megjelentetését, valamint egy internetes folyóirat megalapítását és első három számának megjelentetését.
A vállal feladatokat teljesítettem:
A „Hitvallást” lefordítottam, és írtam hozzá angol nyelven egy tanulmányt, amelyet 2005-ben Veszprémben a VI. HUSSE konferencián elő is adtam. A L’Harmattan kiadó vállalta a Tudományos ismeretek gyarapodásáról szóló könyv megjelentetését, amely 2006 karácsonyára fog elkészülni. A négy cikk kéziratos formában elkészült. Könyvem az Edwin Mellen Pressnél 2004-ben megjelent. Társ-, alapító-szerkesztőként létrehoztam az e-Colloquia: 16th- Century English Culture, nemzetközi tudományos folyóiratot (www.ecolloquia.com Pázmány University Electronic Press – Budapest: ISSN 1785-6515), illetve elkészítettük az első három számot.
Results in English
In my research program I undertook to accomplish the following tasks:
I intended to translate Francis Bacon’s “Confession of Faith”, The Advancement of Learning into Hungarian . Also I intended to write an analysis of New Atlantis, and about the development of three topics in the oeuvre, such as the justification of scientific research, errors in research, and the advancement of science. Furthermore, I also shouldered to publish my monograph and the foundation of an international e-journal and the publication of the first three issues.
In harmony with my intentions I have rendered the “Confession of Faith” into Hungarian and also composed a paper analysing it with respect to natural philosophy, which paper I read at the 6th HUSSE Conference in Veszprém. I have handed over the manuscript of the translation of Bacon’s The Advancement of Learning accompanied with a commentary and an Afterword to L’Harmattan Publishing Company, and they accepted it for publication. The book is going to come off press at Christmas 2006. The manuscripts of the four articles have been finished. My monograph was published by the Edwin Mellen Press in 2004. As founding co-editor, I have founded e-Colloquia: 16th- Century English Culture, (www.ecolloquia.com Pázmány University Electronic Press – Budapest: ISSN 1785-6515), and the first three issues have been published.
