A Szociológiai Szemle folyamatosan, évek óta rendszeresen jelenik meg, a magyar szám évente négyszer, az angol szám kétszer. A szerzők, szerkesztők és lektorok tevékenységüket díjazás nélkül végzik, a magas színvonalat többek között az anonim bírálati rendszer is biztosítja. A Szociológiai Szemle kiadásának anyagi háttere – az OTKA támogatásának köszönhetően – eddig rendezett volt, de jövője még mindig bizonytalan, hiszen nagyobb részt pályázati pénzekből jelenik meg. A lap angol nyelvű kiadása, a Review of Sociology az Akademiai Kiadó közreműködésével jelenik meg évente kétszer. A magyar számok már jelenleg is megtalálhatók az interneten (www.mtapti.hu/mszt), folyamatban van az angol számok ingyenes közzététele is. A folyóirat ay egyik legolvasottabb társadalomtudományi folyóirat, 2004-ben 650, 2005-ben pedig 720 példányban jutott el ingyen a Magyar Szociológiai Társaság tagjaihoz. Megindítottuk a Szemle felvételét a Citizen index sorozatába, amely a legfontosabb nemzetközi minősítő és szemléző intézmény.

Our periodical, the “Szociológiai Szemle” has been published continuously, years after years. The Hungarian edition is published four times a year, the English one twice. The authors, editors and lectors do not get any compensation for their contribution, the high quality is ensured among others by the anonym opponents working method. The financing of the “Szociológiai Szemle” – thanks to OTKA’s subsidizing – has been solid so far, however its future is still uncertain as being founded by tenders. The English edition, the “Review of Sociology” is being published by the Akademiai Kiadó twice a year. The Hungarian issues are already accessible free of charge on the Internet (www.mtapti.hu/mszt), and it is going to be implemented for the English issues as well. Our periodical is one of the most popular among the periodicals of social sciences, it has been sent free of charge in 2004 to 650 and in 2005 to 720 members of the Hungarian Sociological Association free of charge. We have started up the registration of our periodical in the Citizen index series, which is the most important international qualifying and reviewing institution.
