Atommagok forgásával kapcsolatos aktuális jelenségeket vizsgáltunk gamma-spektroszkópiai módszerekkel.
Királis forgásra jellemző dublett forgási sávokat azonosítottunk a 104Rh körüli atommagokban. Megmutattuk, hogy ezek az atommagok egy új királis szigetet alkotnak a magtérképen; hogy a páratlan atommagok 3-kvázirészecske belső
konfigurációjú forgási állapotai ugyanúgy lehetnek királisak, mint a páratlan-páratlan atommagok 2-kvázirészecske konfigurációjú forgási állapotai; és hogy királis-jelölt dublett forgási sávok tulajdonságai erősebben függenek a
magtörzs tulajdonságaitól mint az aktuális belső konfigurációtól.
Sávlezáró nem-kollektív nagyspinű állapotokat azonosítottunk a 106Sb, 123Cs és a 124Ba atommagokban. Kimutattuk a szuperdeformált forgási sávok lezáródásának lehetőségét a 132Ce atommagban.
Az erősen neutrontöbbletes atommagokban megmuttattuk, hogy mind az N=20, mind az N=28 mágikus szám mentén a csökkenő protonszám irányába haladva egy deformált magtartomány alakul ki. A deformáció létrejöttének az az oka, hogy a neutron egyrészecske energiák változnak a protonszám változásával és ez változás a stabilitási sáv közelében megismert héjzáródások megszűnéséhez és új héjzáródások keletkezéséhez vezet.
A 17B és a 16C példáján demonstráltuk, hogy elegendően nagy neutrontöbblet esetén a valencia neutronok lecsatolódhatnak a magtörzsről és attól független önálló kollektív mozgást végezhetnek.

Topical subjects related to nuclear rotation have been studied using gamma-spectroscopic methods.
Doublet rotational bands characteristic for nuclear chirality have been identified in nuclei around 104Rh. We have shown that these nuclei present a new chiral island in the chart of nuclides; that rotational states based on 3-quasiparticle configurations in odd-mass nuclei can be chiral as well as the rotational states based on 2-quasiparticle configurations in odd-odd nuclei; and that the properties of the chiral-candidate doublet rotational bands depend more on the core properties than the intrinsic configuration. Band terminating non-collective high-spin states have been identified in 106Sb, 123Cs and 124Ba nuclei. We have pointed out the possibility of termination of superdeformed rotational bands in 132Ce. In nuclei with a large neutron excess formation of strongly deformed region has been found both along the N=20 and N=28 magic numbers if the number of the protons was decreased. It has been shown that the reason of the development of deformation is associated with the change of the neutron single particle energies, which may lead to disappearance of the magic magic numbers known close to the stability line and formation of new ones. Through the examples of 17B and 16C we have shown that in nuclei with even larger neutron excess decoupling of valence neutrons from the core may take place, and the decoupled neutrons may rotate or vibrate independently of the core.
