Négy új módszert fejlesztettünk ki, vizsgáltuk azok elméleti alapjait, megteremtettük a működtetésükhöz szükséges hardveres és szoftveres hátteret és tanulmányoztuk azok terepi használhatóságát. A geolektromos MAN elrendezés elsősorban a homogén, vagy párhuzamosan rétegzett féltér modellektől való eltérések detektálásában perspektivikus. A többi egyenáramú elrendezésnél jobban „belát” a kvázi-szigetelő rétegek alá, jól képes detektálni a laterális változásokat és nagyon alkalmas mélyen lévő, kis hatást okozó hatók kimutatására is. Ez utóbbi az egyik nagy előnye a szoftveresen fókuszált elrendezéseinknek is, aminek köszönhetően, pl. üregkutatásra vagy hulladéktárolók aljának kutatására kiválóan alkalmasak lehetnek. A szúrópróba módszert nagyon jó felbontóképessége mellett egyszerűsége és olcsósága predesztinálja elsősorban régészeti kutatásokra. Emellett aljzatmélység meghatározására is alkalmas, ami karsztos aljzat felett katasztrófa-megelőzésre is képessé teszi. A Hr komponenst mérő VLF-EM módszer módosulat lehetővé teszi, hogy a szelvényezési iránnyal 45° körüli szöget bezáró csapású szerkezeteket is jobban detektálhassunk. Szélesebb körben is használható a kifejlesztett háromdimenziós modellező program és a 2D és 3D topográfia lekezelésére használható speciális eljárás. Numerikus eljárásokat és modellező szoftvereket készítettünk nem földelt elektródákat használó alacsonyfrekvenciás konduktív, induktív és kapacitív csatolású elrendezések vizsgálatára is.

We developed four new methods, discussed their theory, then we established their hardware and software bases, in order to be able to use them in the field. The geoelectric MAN array is perspective in detecting any deviation from the layered (or homogeneous) half-space models. It “sees down” deeper, even below quasi-isolator layers, and it is able to detect tiny lateral variations. It is also useful in investigation of deeply seated, relatively small-size inhomogeneities. Detection of deep and small-size inhomogeneities is among the capabilities of our software-based focussed arrays, too. They seem to be extremely useful in detection of cavities and bottom of waste deposit sites. The so-called pricking probe method has a high resolution, furthermore it is extremely simple and cheap, so it seems to be an ideal tool in archaeological exploration. It may also have capacity in determination of subsurface karstic surfaces, implicitly in prevention of karstic catastrophes. The new Hr variant of the VLF-EM method is able to detect geological lineaments, which are oblique-oriented relative to the direction of the measuring profile. The three-dimensional numerical modelling software and the numerical treating of two- and three-dimensional topographies can become widely applicable tools in geoelectric prospecting. Numerical algorithms and modelling softwares have also been made, to investigate various features of low-frequency (conductively, inductively and capacitively coupled) arrays.
