A pályázat a Medieval Laws of Hungary/Decreta Regni Mediaevalis Hungariae latin-angol kommentált forráskiadvány-sorozat még hátralevö 4. kötetének (1490-1526 idöszak törvényei) elkészítésére és a 6. kötet (index és glosszárium) összeállitására vonatkozik. A nemzetközi együttmükés célja a törvényszövegek európai kontextusban való elemzése és az angol fordítás technikai finomítása. Külföldi kollégáinkkal a DRM 5 (Triparitum, T026325) kiadása során kialakult -- és a British Academy és University College London stb. által is támogatott -- kooperációt óhajtjuk a következö két évben folytatni.
Summary
The project aims at the completion of the Medieval Laws of Hungary/Decreta Regni Mediaevalis Hungariae series by volume 4 (the laws of the period 1490-1526 A.D.) and volume 6 (General Index and Glossary for vols. 1-5). The international cooperation is necessary for placing the laws in a European context, discuss the proper translation in terms of English legal discourse. This cooperation--partially supported by the British Academy and UCL--has been most fruitful for vol. 5 (Tripartitum), and we wish to continue it.

A nemzetközi kooperáció keretében két igen sikeres, kétnapos munkaértekezletetet (workshop) tartottunk, egyet Érden és egyet Londonban. (Program és résztvevök “Beszámoló” alatt.) Mindkét alkalommal a már megszokott – a DRMH V készitése során kialakult – igen hasznos kritikus közös munkát végeztünk a törvények szövegein és az azokkal kapcsolatban felmerült problémákról. Nagy örörmünkre szolgált, hogy nem csak mi tanultunk sokat az angol, amerikai és szomszéd-országokbeli kollégáktól, de ők is érdeklődéssel fordultak a magyarországi fejlődés felé. Tudjuk, hogy ma már a DRMH kötetei rendszeresen szerepelnek a londoni és cambridge-i jogtörténeti oktatás olvasmányai között. Mind az összzehasonlító megközelítés, mind a szakkifejezések pontos fordítása és kommentálása (pl. a glosszáriumban) nagyban emelte a tervezett kötet színvonalát.
Results in English
In the frame of the international cooperation, we held two very successful two-day workshops, one in Érd, Hungary and one in London. (Program and participants listed under “Beszámoló”) At both occasion we did the usual common reading and discussion, as established during our joint work on DRMH V in the previous years. We were pleased to note that not only we learned from our colleagues from abroad but they, too, found the Hungarian development interesting and relevant. The volumes of the DRMH now feature regularly in the history of law curriculum of UCL and Cambridge. The comparative approach and the clarification of the meaning of technical terms (including those in the Generl Glossary) helped much to improve the quality of the planned volume DRMH 4.
