A CPT-szimmetria a Természet egyik alapvető szimmetriája, részecske és antirészecske ekvivalenciáját mondja ki. Újabban elméletileg lehetséges sérülését feltételezik, ez indokolja kísérleti vizsgálatát. A CERN Antiproton-lassítójánál működő ASACUSA-kísérlet (Atomic Spectroscopy and Collisions Using Slow Antiprotons, japán-dán-magyar-olasz-osztrák együttműködés) keretében tervezzük eddig is folyó vizsgálatainkat folytatni ill. bővíteni a következő mérésekkel:

1. Az antiproton mágneses momentuma: A metastabil antiprotonos héliumatom hiperfinom átmeneteit gerjesztjük lézer-mikrohullám-lézer harmas rezonanciával. A korábbi méréseink pontosításával az antiproton anomális mágneses momentumát tervezzük meghatározni a protonéval összehasonlítva.

2. Az antiproton tömege és töltése: Kétfotonos lézerspektroszkópiával a jelenlegi méréseinket tovább pontosítjuk a longitudinális Doppler-hatás eliminálásával. A mi módszerünk eddig az egyetlen, amellyel az antiproton tömege és töltése meghatározható, korábban csak a kettő arányát mérték. Méréseink pontosságán 2-3 évenként egy-egy nagyságrendet javítottunk, ezt igyekszünk fenntartani.

3. Antihidrogén előállítása és tanulmányozása: Az általunk épített rádiofrekvenciás kvadrupól utólassító lehetővé teszi, hogy a másik két AD-kísérletnél nagyságrendekkel több antihidrogént állitsunk elő. Kétféle ioncsapdát is építünk antiprotonok rekombinációjára pozitronokkal: Paul-csapdát a CERN-ben és cusp-csapdát a RIKEN-ben. A prototípusokat megépítettük és teszteltük, a konstrukció elkezdődött. Célunk antihidrogén-nyaláb előállítása, amellyel az antihidrogén-atomok hiperfinom felhasadását mérjük két szextupól-mágnes közé helyezett, hangolható mikrohullámú rezonátor segítségével.

4. Ionizációs ütközési folyamatok elméleti és kísérleti vizsgálata kisenergiájú antiprotonokkal, a hasonló protonos reakciókkal összehasonlítva.

A LEP 2000-es leállása és az LHC 2008-as indulása között az AD egyike volt azon kevés CERN-berendezésnek, ahol fizikai kísérleti munka folyt. A kísérletünk kis mérete egyedülálló lehetőséget nyújt fiatal kutatóinknak a modern méréstechnikák elsajátítására. A támogatást hat magyar kutató és két hallgató részvételéhez kérjük ebben a már eddig is igen sikeres nemzetközi együttműködésben. Hozzájárulásunk a mérőberendezések megépítéséhez - az eddigiekhez hasonlóan - a precíziós mozgatóállványok hazai tervezése és építése a csapdák és a detektorrendszerek számára.
Summary
CPT invariance is a fundamental principle of Nature, it states the equivalence of particles and antiparticles. Recently, there are CPT-violating theories, and that necessitates its experimental tests. We plan to continue these studies within the framework of the ASACUSA experiment with the following topics:
1. Magnetic moment of the antiproton: Hyperfine transitions in antiprotonic helium atoms are excited using a laser-microwave-laser triple resonance.
2. Mass and charge of the antiproton: Using two-photon spectroscopy we shall further refine our measurements by eliminating the longitudinal Doppler effect. Ours is the only method to determine the mass and charge of the antiproton. The precision of our measurements were increased by an order of magnitude every 2-3 years, we shall try to keep this up.
3. Creation and study of antihydrogen: We are building two different ion traps for antiproton recombination with positrons: a Paul trap at CERN and a cusp trap at RIKEN. The prototypes are successfully built and tested and the construction work has started. The aim is to create an antihydrogen beam for measuring the hyperfine splitting of antihydrogen using a tunable microwave cavity placed between two sextupole magnet.
4. Theoretical and experimental study of collisonal ionization processes with slow antiprotons in comprison of those with protons.
Between of LEP's dismount in 2000 and LHC's start in 2008 the Antiproton Decelerator was one of the very few CERN facilities with actual experimental activity. The small size of our experiment provides a unique possibility for young researchers to study the modern experimental techniques in situ. We ask for support for the participation of four scientists and two students in this
very successful international collaboration. The Hungarian contribution to the measuring the apparatus - as earlier - is the design and construction of the precision gantries for the traps and the detection system.

Tevékenységünk a CERN Antiproton-lassítója melletti ASACUSA együttműködés különböző kísérleteihez kapcsolódik, főként az anyag és antianyag egyenértékűségét kimondó CPT-invariancia kísérleti ellenőrzésére. Hangolható lézerrel átmenetet stimulálunk antiprotonos héliumatom hosszú és rövid élettartamú állapotai között, az átmeneti energiából meghatározzuk az antiproton és az elektron tömegének hányadosát. A méréseinket egészen ritka és hideg gázban végezve, a lézerfrekvenciát frekvenciafésűvel stabilizálva, az atomi mozgás miatti Doppler-hatást kétfotonos gerjesztéssel csökkentve, a protonéhoz közeli pontosságot értünk el az antiproton tömegének meghatározásában. A lézer-mikrohullám-lézer hármas rezonancia módszerével meghatároztuk az antiproton mágneses momentumát hélium-4 és hélium-3 atomokban és az elméletivel egyező spektrumokat kaptunk. Prototípust építettünk az antihidrogén előállítására szolgáló kétmódusú Paul-csapdához és megépítettük az antihidrogén képződését ellenőrző detektorrendszerünket. Kisenergiájú antiproton és hidrogén molekula ütközésében meghatároztuk az egyszeres ionizációs hatáskeresztmetszeteket és elméleti számításokat végeztünk egyszeresen és kétszeresen differenciális hatáskeresztmetszetekre antiproton és hélium ütközéseiben, valamint hidrogén- és vízmolekula ionizációjára polarizált lézertérben. Megmértük az ionvezetés hőmérsékletfüggését kapillárisokban és rámutattunk, hogy kis energián rugalmas ütközés, nagyobbakon a Coulomb-taszítás dominál.
Results in English
Our activity is connected to the experiments of the ASACUSA collaboration at the Antiproton Decelerator of CERN, mainly to the tests of CPT invariance, stating the equivalence of matter and antimatter. Using tunable lasers to stimulate transitions between short- and long-lived states in antiprotonic helium atoms, from the transition energies we determine the antiproton-to-electron mass ratio. Performing the measurements in low-pressure cold gas, stabilising the laser tune using a frequency comb and reducing the Doppler broadening from atomic motion using two-photon spectroscopy we managed to reach a precision of determining to antiproton mass close to that of the proton. Using a laser-microwave-laser triple resonance technique we have measured the magnetic moment of the antiproton in He-4 and He-3 atoms in agreement with the theoretical predictions. We have built a prototype of a two-tone Paul-trap for antihydrogen formation and also a detector system for testing antihydrogen annihilation. We have measured single ionization cross sections for collisions of low-energy antiprotons with hydrogen molecules and calculated singly and doubly differential cross sections for collisons of antiprotons with helium and also for the ionization of hydrogen and water molecules in a polarized laser field. Measured the temperature dependence of ionic conductivity in capillaries and showed that at low energies elastic collisions whereas at higher ones Coulomb repulsion dominate.
