Summary in Hungarian

A Budapesti Műszaki és Gazdaságtudományi Egyetem Méréstechnika és Információs Rendszerek Tanszékén a jelfeldolgozás az egyik alapvető kutatási és oktatási terület. Tanszékünkön az elmúlt években jó néhány doktorandusz dolgozott és dolgozik folyamatosan ezeken a témákon. Néhány fontosabb, nálunk vizsgált téma, mellyel kapcsolatban megfelelő eredményeink és publikációink vannak:
• a rendszeridentifikáció problémakörének vizsgálata, mind az egybemenetű-egykimenetű, mind a több-bemenetű-több-kimenetű rendszerek vonatkozásában,
• a mérőeszköz által torzítottan mérhető jelek valódi alakjának helyreállítása a mérőeszköz modelljének felhasználásával: inverzszűrés,
• aktív zajcsökkentés a környezet modellezése segítségével,
• adaptív szűrőstruktúrák létrehozása és felhasználása jelenségek modellezésében és a körülmények javításában (pl. aktív zajcsökkentés),
• intelligensen adaptív rendszerek vizsgálata az adaptációs eljárás tranzienseinek csökkentésére,
• az analóg-digitál átalakítás és a jelfeldolgozás kerekítési hibáinak vizsgálata, tulajdonságaik megértése és hatásuk lehetőség szerinti csökkentése céljából.
A fenti területeken folyó aktív munka már eddig is jól értékelhető eredményeket hozott. A pályázatban támogatni kívánt doktoranduszaink és a hároméves képzést most befejezett doktoranduszaink aktívan dolgoznak a területen.
A tanszéki doktori műhely támogatása lehetővé tenné, hogy azokat a fiatal kollégákat, akiknél megfelelő korábbi eredmények alapján jó esélyük van az értekezés elkészítésére, megfelelően támogassuk. Megítélésünk szerint a alkalmazni kívánt doktoranduszaink mind ilyen kategóriába esnek. Szeretnénk egy fiatal poszt-doktoranduszt egy ideig szintén alkalmazni, hogy a munkák összefogásában, koordinálásában segítsen. Végezetül, azokat a jövőbeli doktoranduszokat is szeretnénk támogatni, akik megfelelő előrehaladást mutatnak, de felvételikor a támogatást jelentő ponthatárt megközelítették, de nem érték el.

Summary

Signal processing is an important research and education area of the Department of Measurement and Information Systems, Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
In the recent years, several MSC and PhD students have been working and are working continuously on these topics at our department. Some important topics, examined at the department, with adequate results and publications:
• Examination of system identification (system model creation) problems, for both single-input, single-output (SISO) and multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) systems, with some extension to nonlinear distortions;
• Restoration of signals distorted by the measurement system, using model of the measurement system: inverse-filtering (e.g. restoration of old audio material and films);
• Active noise cancellation/reduction by using models of the environment;
• Theory and application of new adaptive filter structures to model different phenomena and to create more robust algorithms (e.g. for noise reduction);
• Examination of the quantization and round-off errors of the analog-digital conversion and signal processing algorithms.
This support would allow us to support those young colleges who have a great chance to finish their dissertation within a short period of time based on their activity so far. In addition, we would also like to apply a young post-doc to help us coordinating the work. Finally, we would like to support those future PhD students who are showing good progress and achieved very good results at the PhD qualifying exam, but they could not obtain the Hungarian state scholarship.
During the proposed project 2-3 PhD dissertations, 2-3 PhD students approaching the PhD degree and corresponding referred publications are realistically expected.

A kutatás célja a doktoranduszok munkájának támogatása volt: - doktori ösztöndíjat nem elnyert, de tehetséges doktoranduszok ösztöndíjának finanszírozása - a doktoranduszok tényleges tudományos teljesítményének támogatása: cikkek, konferenciarészvételek költségeihez való hozzájárulás, és a tényleges publikálás megkövetelése - a doktori értekezések előkészítése, adott részfeladat megoldásával összekötött kisebb támogatás (erkölcsi nyomásgyakorlás az OTKA segítségével is) - szükség szerinti hozzájárulás a doktoranduszi munka tanszéki infrastrukturális feltételeinek folyamatos biztosításához (számítógép, kisebb beszerzések, hálózat, nyomtatás, stb.) Ebben az időszakban két doktorandusz ösztöndíját biztosítottuk az OTKA projektből: Engedy István, publikációjegyzék: http://mycite.omikk.bme.hu/search/slist.php?AuthorID=10004842 Eredics Péter, publikációjegyzék: http://mycite.omikk.bme.hu/search/slist.php?AuthorID=10005703 Mindketten jelentősen haladtak. Rövid ideig támogattuk az OTKÁ-ból a nálunk dolgozó Csordás Péter volt doktoranduszt. A készülő doktori értekezésében ért el újabb előrelépést. A projekt jelentős eredménye, hogy aránylag kis költséggel 9 cikket sikerült előadni és megjelentetni a grazi IEEE IMTC 2012 konferencián. Ezek egy része alaposan átdolgozva a konferencia válogatott előadásain alapuló IEEE Trans. Instrumentation and Measurement különszámban cikként megjelenik. Ez az OTKA támogatás nélkül nem lett volna megvalósítható. A zsűri elnök kérésére a vezető kutató új összefoglalót írt, hogy közlésre alkalmas legyen: Ez az OTKA projekt speciális abból a szempontból, hogy célja nem előre meghatározott kutatás elvégzése volt, hanem olyan doktorandusz-hallgatók kutatásának támogatása, akik adott tématerületen kutatnak, és várhatóan PhD fokozatot szereznek. Ennek megfelelően az eredmények az ő kreativitásukon alapulnak. Az elvégzett munkáról és az eredményekről a megjelent publikációk tanúskodnak. Az alábbiakban a legfontosabb eredményeket tekintjük át. 1) Balogh László Annak bizonyítása másodfokú rendszerek esetén, hogy ha az illesztendő adatokhoz megfelelő késleltetést adunk, akkor az illesztett rendszermodell stabil lesz. Más szóval mindig létezik olyan késleltetés, mely mellett a legkisebb négyzetes költségfüggvény stabil lesz. Az állítás nagy valószínűséggel magasabb rendszer-fokszámokra is igaz, de a bizonyítás nagyon bonyolultnak látszik. 2) Engedy István Tamás Megerősítéses tanuláson alapuló optimális szabályozóalgoritmus kidolgozása folytonos állapot- és akciótérre, részben megfigyelhető környezet esetén. Ez a robotnavigációs probléma egyfajta megoldása. 3) Eredics Péter Egy intelligens üvegház adatainak tisztítása, az üvegház laza csatolású részrendszereken alapuló hibrid modellezése, és modellalapú vezérlésének kidolgozása. 4) Hullám Gábor Bayes-alapú következtetés és lényegkiemelés alkalmazása sokfaktoros betegségek genetikai okainak felderítésére. 5) Millinghoffer András Dániel Asztmára való hajlam valószínűsítése részleges Bayes-hálókon alapuló genomanalízis alapján. 6) Sárhegyi Attila Analóg-digitális átalakítók szinuszjel alapú tesztelése mért adatainak hatékony feldolgozása normális eloszlás relaxációjával (az eloszlás helyettesítése Laplace-eloszlással). 7) Virosztek Tamás Annak kimutatása és bizonyítása, hogy nemlineáris A/D konverter karakterisztika esetén a legkisebb négyzetes illesztés torzított, míg a maximum likelihood eljárás aszimptotikusan torzítatlan. 8) Pálfi Vilmos Annak bizonyítása, hogy analóg-digitális átalakítók szinuszos tesztelésénél kizárólag a mért jelekből ellenőrizhető a szabványos tesztelési feltételek teljesülése, vagyis nincs szükség az általában nehezen mérhető bemeneti gerjesztőjel külön mérésére. 9) Csurcsia Péter Zoltán Lassan változó nemlineáris rendszerek modellezése B-spline alapú adatsimítással 10) Orosz György Rezonátor alapú adaptív struktúra kidolgozása és stabilitásának bizonyítása adatvesztés illetve korlátos sávszélességű mérési csatorna esetén. 11) Scherer Balázs Mikrokontrollerek működéskövető blokkjai alkalmazásának kidolgozása a rendszer integritásának figyelésére. 12) Györke Péter Szenzorhálózatok energiatakarékos működésének vizsgálata és optimálisan ütemezett, nem egyenletes mintavételen alapuló működésének kidolgozása. 13) Krébesz Tamás István FM-DCSK átvitt referenciajelű modulációs eljárás vizsgálata és tulajdonságainak megállapítása.

Results in English

This project aimed at promotion of the work of PhD students through the following ways: - providing PhD grants for PhD students who did not obtain a state grant, - supporting scientific achievements: contribution to costs of publishing journal and conference papers, - entrusting PhD student with partial tasks which can lead to a thesis ("moral pressure" to work towards a thesis), - contribution to instrastructural conditions of PhD work (computer, other smaller units, maintenance of local area network, printing, etc.) In this period, two PhD students received a grant each: István Engedy, publication list: http://mycite.omikk.bme.hu/search/slist.php?lang=1&AuthorID=10004842 Péter Eredics, publication list: http://mycite.omikk.bme.hu/search/slist.php?lang=1&AuthorID=10005703 Both of them show good progress. We supported for a short period also Péter Csordás, a former PhD student working the the Dept. He prepared a part of the thesis. An important result is that we could publish 9 conference papers with moderate cost at the IEEE IMTC 2012 concerence in Graz. A part of them will be published, after full revision, in the special issue of IEEE Trans. Instrumentation and Measurement. This was made possible by the OTKA grant. For the request of the panel chair the principal investigator has written a new summary for publication: 1) László Balogh It has been proven for second-order systems that an additional delay can ensure stability of the system fitted to data in LS sense. The statement is very likely to be true also for higher system orders, but the proof seems to be very complex. 2) István Tamás Engedy Optimal control algorithm based on reinforced learning for neural networks for continuous state and action space, with partially observable environment. This is the solution of certain robot control problems. 3) Péter Eredics Clearning of measured data of an intelligent greenhouse, hybrid modelling of the greenhouse by loosely coupled subsytems, and elaboration of model-based control. 4) Gábor Hullám Partial genome screening of asthma susceptibility regions using Bayesian network based analysis of relevance 5) András Dániel Millinghoffer Analysis of asthma susceptibility based on partial Bayesian nets 6) Attila Sárhegyi Effective data analysis of ADC's sine wave testing results by relaxation of the normal distribution to Laplacian one. 7) Tamás Virosztek Recognition and proof of the fact that for nonlinear ADC characteristics the LS fit is biased, while maximum likelihood is asymptotically unbiased. 8) Vilmos Pálfi Proof of the fact that for sine wave test of ADCs it is possible to check from the measured data only the fulfilment of the standard conditions for the input signal. 9) Péter Zoltán Csurcsia B-splie based data smoothing for slowly changing nonlinear systems. 10) György Orosz Development and proof of stability of resonator-based adaptive systems for data loss and for limited bandwidth measurement channels. 11) Balázs Scherer Application of trace and debug post for the application of microcontrollers for observation of system integrity. 12) Péter Györke Energy saving operation of sensor networks based on optimal scheduling applying non-equidistant sampling 13) Tamás István Krébesz FM-DCSK transmitted reference modulation scheme with autocorrelation receiver.
