Jelen pályázat fő célja, korábbi Ph.D. kutatásaim alatt megalkotott modell fejlesztése és alkalmazása ultrarelativisztikus proton-proton ill.
nehézion ütközésekben keltett hadronok produkciójának kiszámítására. A kutatás első részében ameglévő pQCD alapú parton modell tökéletesítését szeretném elvégezni, beépítve a belső traszverzális impulzust valamint a NLL számolások eredményeit.

A kutatás második részében a különböző hadrontípusok fragmentációs függvényeit és az ezektől elkülönülő végállapoti effektusokat kívánom vizsgálni. Számolásaim eredménye segít megérteni a nehézionütközésekben keletkezett extrém állapot a kvark-gluon plazma tulajdonságait.

Kutatásaim minden pontja szorosan átfed a 2008 tavaszán induló Nagy Hadron Ütköztető részecskegyorsító kísérleti méréseivel. Elméleti kutatásaim segítségével meghatározhatóak a várható részecskehozamok, motiválva a kísérleti méréseket, valamint a detektorok későbbi
kísérleti célkitűzéseit. Mint a magyar ALICE csoport tagja, elméleti munkám egy része kapcsolódik a VHMPID detektor fejlesztéséhez is. Ez a csoport a nagyon-nagy impulzusú részecskék azonosítását szolgáló detektror építését tűzte ki célul.
Summary
This project is a continuation of my Ph.D. work: development of a model for calculating hadron production in ultra-relativistic proton-proton, proton-nucleus and heavy-ion collisions. The scientific plan contains the upgrade of the existing pQCD based parton model, improved by intrinsic transverse momentum and the latest theoretical results on next-to-leading-logarithm calculations.

The second part of the research will test the validity of the fragmentations of different types of hadrons and separated final state effects. The expected results help us to understand the properties of the formed extreme state of the matter, the quark-gluon plasma.

All the point of this theoretical investigations are overlaps with the future experimental measurements of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, expected to start in spring of 2008. As a theoretical work, this would give predictions and motivations for the measurements and the possible applications of the detectors. Especially my work connected partially to the Hungarian ALICE group in which I am a member. The group is working on similar question from the experimental point of view: building the Very High Momentum Particle Identification Detector.

A kutatási projektben a brookhaveni RHIC és a genfi CERN LHC részecskegyorsítók hadron-hadron ütközéseiben keletkező jetek és hadronok mért spektrumainak elméleti értelmezését tűztem ki célomul. Elsősorban a hadronizáció folyamatának modellezésére fókuszáltam, melyhez a fenti két részecskegyorsító adatai mellett Tevatron és CERN LEP adatokat is felhasználtam. Eredményeim hozzájárultak a nagyenergiás nukleáris effektusok megértéséhez és a nem extenzív statisztikus módszerek, mint új kutatási irány kibontakoztatásához. Elméleti munkám során fejlesztettem korábbi pQCD kódomat, amellyel jósolhatóvá váltak a nukleáris effektusok LHC energián. Tesztelési fázisban van egy, a fragmentációs függvények illesztését végző program is. Elméleti kutatásaim alapján háttérszámításokat szolgáltattam ALICE VHMPID moduljának fejlesztéséhez. Eredményeimet 23 konferencián és 4 szemináriumban mutattam be. Tudománynépszerűsítéseként 14 előadást tartottam iskolákban valamint, a National Geographic, a HVG, és az Atomoktól a Csillagokig sorozatainak keretében. A kutatásom 3,5 éve alatt munkáimból 17 poszter és 20 cikk jelent meg, közülük 11 referált folyóiratban (Összes IF: 28.57). A projekthez kapcsolódóan nagy hangsúlyt fektettem az utánpótlás-nevelésre is: 3 diák munkáját irányítottam, akik részt vettek az OTDK 2011 konferencián és két első helyezést valamint egy dicséretet szereztek. Későbbiekben mindhárom diák BSc fokozatot szerzett, illetve folyamatban van MSc tanulmányaik lezárása.

The aim of my project was the theoretical description of jet and hadron spectra measured in high-energy nucleuon-nucleon collisions at RHIC Brookaven and LHC CERN Geneva, including further Tevatron (USA) and CERN LEP data also. My research primary focused on the modelling hadronization processes. My studies helped to ignite and motivate a novel theoretical direction: the non-extensive statistical approach in the field of heavy ion physics. During the project, I updated my earlier pQCD program, which now can be applied for calculations and predictions for processes and nuclear effects at LHC energies, moreover it provide a framework to include further fragmentation functions or models. Another program to fit fragmentation functions is under test. I participated also in the R&D of VHMPID, a proposed subdetector of the ALICE experiment, where background analysis and calculations were done based of my theoretical model. My result were presented on 23 conferences and on 4 seminars. I gave talks on 14 scientific PR event for students and on National Geographic Hungary, HVG journals, and “From the Atoms to Starts” series. During the 3.5 years of the project my results were presented on 17 posters, 20 publication including 11 SCI journal, with total impact factor: 28.57. In connection to my project I could lead 3 students, who got 2 first and 1 honourable prize on the OTDK 2011 conference. Under my supervision they got their BSc diplomas, and now preparing for the MSc.
