A pályázat célja a Györffy György nevével fémjelzett projekt második kötetének elkészítése. A Diplomata Hungariae antiquissima első kötete az 1000-1131 között keletkezett magyar történeti vonatkozású okleveleket tette közzé. A folytatás 1131--1196 között vállalja ugyanezt a feladatot. A feladat elvégzéséhez rendelkezésre állnak bizonyos előmunkálatok, összességében azonban a Györffy Györgytől átvett kézirati anyag kiegészítésre és feldolgozásra szorul. Hiányoznak belőle a pápai és legátusi oklevelek, a bizánci források ill. a nyugat európai okleveles anyag. A legnagyobb készültségi fokot jelentő III. Béla-kori oklevélcsoport (Borsa Iván munkája) 1963-as állapotot mutat, az apparátus nem készült el, az közben eltelt időben a szakirodalom jelentős eredményeket hozott. A pályázatban részt vevő kutatók feladata a Györffy-kézirat rendezése, a hiányok pótlása, a szövegkolláció, az apparátus és a forráskritikai készlet elkészítése.
Summary
The aim of this research is the edition of the second volume of Diplomata Hungariae antiquissima, which initiated the famous scholar György Györffy. The first volume of this project contains the charters of the years from 1000 A. D. to 1131. A. D., concerning Hungarian early medieval history. This continuation undertakes the same task of editing between the years 1131-1196. There are available some works or manuscripts which were compiled by Györffy and by his fellow scholars, but these manuscripts are rather incomplete; they must be completed and processed. The most important defect is the absence of the charters of the popes and his legates from this age. The most sufficient part of this manuscript is a work of Iván Borsa, archivist, which contains the texts of charters between the years 1172-1196, from the age of king Béla III. Unfortunately, the status of this part also reflects the facts from 1963, the apparatus still required and the reference literature brought important results since then. The proposition of the researchers participating in this project is: arranging the manuscript of Györffy, supplementing of failures, collation of texts, making of apparatus and critical analysis of sources.

A támogatási összegeket a munkatervbe foglalt költségterv szerint igyekeztünk felhasználni. Az utazási keretet hat római és két párizsi tanulmány- ill. konferenciaútra használtuk fel. A konferenciákon a projekt résztvevői részéről két német nyelvű előadás hangzott el. A kerekasztalaink biztosították a körülményeket a tudományos eszmecseréhez, ezek főként a kiadási elvek elméleti kérdéseire összpontosítottak. A munka során együttműködtünk a párhuzamos projektekkel. A teljes kézirat egyelőre nem készült el, részeredményeink már bíztatóak a munka közeli jövőbeni megjelentetését illetően. Elkészült a tördelőformátum, mely alkalmas arra, hogy a DHA által kínált információkat kezelje. A leginkább lényeges eredménynek az átörökölt kézirati anyag fizikai egyesítését, rendszerezését és a megóvásáról való gondoskodást látjuk, valamint az egész anyag digitalizálását és egy olyan adatbázisba szerkesztését, mely az oklevélfotók és az elődök kéziratainak fényképei és legépelt és szerkesztett változatai mellett a legfontosabb tudományos segédanyagokat is tartalmazza. A bevezető tanulmány vázlata és egyes szövegrészei már alkalmasak a megvitatásra. Reményeink szerint a kisebb hiányokkal elvégzett kutatómunka garanciáját jelenti egy valóban korszerű, mintaszerű forráskiadvány megszületésének.
Results in English
We aimed to make use of the support money according to the budget schedule of our work plan. The our travel funds were spent on six research and conference trips in Rome and two in Paris. The participants of our project held two conference talks in German. Our scientific workshops ensured excellent conditions to scientific talks. As editing principles seemed to require professional consensus the most, our discussions mainly focused on these theoretical questions. We cooperated with parallel projects including. The entire manuscript has not yet been completed. However, our partial results are promising and anticipate the publication of our work in the near future. We have developed a typesetting format that enables us to manage the items of information in the DHA and also employable in other editions of diplomatic sources. The most essential partial results are the physical unification, classification, preservation and digitalisation of the inherited manuscript material. Our database contains the photographs and the typed and edited versions of the charters and the notes of our predecessors just as the most important secondary literature. The outline and several samples of the introductory study are already suitable for discussion. We are sure that our elaborate and detailed research will guarantee the publication of an indeed up-to-date and excellent edition of the sources, which can match to the international standards too.
