Az Élet és Tudomány mint a hazai ismeretterjesztés egyetlen hetilapja kiemelt feladatának tartja a magyarországi vagy magyar vonatkozású tudományos eredmények kommunikációját. Ezek sorában különös figyelmet szentel az alapkutatásoknak, amelyek - természetüknél fogva - ritkán vagy egyáltalán nem kerülnek reflektorfénybe a tömegtájékoztatásban és a nyomtatott sajtóban, hiszen kevés "hír"-rel szolgál ez a terület. Jóllehet éppen ezek a kutatások alapozzák meg a későbbi innovációs, technológiai, alkalmazott kutatási eredményeket. Ezért határozott úgy a szerkesztőség, hogy az OTKA támogatásával egy alapkutatási rovatot indítunk. A rovatban szerzői cikk vagy interjú formájában minden alkalommal egy-egy hazai alapkutatással foglalkozó műhelyt, vagy annak vezetőjét mutatjuk be úgy a természettudományok, mint a társadalomtudományok köréből. A cikkekhez legalább egy kép, s amikor csak lehet - a figyelem nagyobb felkeltése céljából - címlap is tartozik.
Summary
The aim of Élet és Tudomány, the only weekly science magazine in Hungarian is communicating up to date results on Hungarian Science. As a part of this mission Élet és Tudomány wants to focus on Hungarian basic research. This field of Science is usually hardly covered in mass media because there is only a few news, few sensations in basic research, although all the results of innovation, technology or applied Science is based on these results. That is why Élet és Tudomány decided to create this new series on Hungarian basic research on the fields of Science and Humanities. The aim of our weekly science magazine is to introduce the main trends and up to date results, the best known researchers and institutions in basic research in Hungary. The title of the series would be: "OTKA series on Hungarian basic research" which means app. 20 articles and at least 60 pages during one year.
