Az elmúlt években örvendetesen megszaporodtak a magyar társdalomra vonatkozó történeti szociológiai, demográfiai, társadalomtörténeti alapkutatások. Ezek egy jelentős része különböző OTKA kutatásokhoz is kapcsolódott. A tervezett tanulmánykötet célja, hogy ezeket a legújabb tudományos eredményeket a szélesebb közönség is megismerhesse, beépülhessenek az egyetemi tananyagokba. A tanulmányok döntő többsége egyfelől a 18-20. századi parasztság társadalmi, demográfiai viszonyait, a vidéki társadalom átalakulásának kérdéseit vizsgálja a modernizációs folyamat keretében; másfelől a polgárosodás, a középosztály, a városi elitek problematikáját elemzi. A kutatásokban hangsúlyosan megjelennek a mikrotörténeti módszerek, a társadalmi viszonyok alakulásának, a rétegződésnek a kapcsoltháló- elemzéseken keresztül történő bemutatása. A tanulmánykötettel egyúttal a magyar történeti szociológia, illetve társadalomtörténet kiemelkedő művelője, Tóth Zoltán munkássága előtt is tisztelegni kívánunk.
Summary
Recently the historical sociological, demographic and social historical basic researches on the Hungarian society have fortunately increased. A significant part of these studies and researches are stimulated and supported by the National Scientific Research Fund (OTKA). The goal of the planned volume of essays is to disseminate and propagate the newest scientific research results in the circle of wider publicity and to incorporate them into the university materials. The studies partly focus on the social and demographic circumstances of the peasantry in the 18th–20th centuries, the questions of the transformation of the rural society with special attention to the modernization process; and partly on the problematic of the middle class and the urban elites. In these researches on the micro-historical methods, the methods of network-analysis, event-analysis and local case studies are laid special emphasis. The volume of essay is a honorary volume, i.e. a Festschrift as well in tribute to Prof. Zoltán Tóth an outstanding researcher of the Hungarian historical sociology and social history.
