A publikálásra kerülő kutatás során összehasonlítottuk a búza zigotikus embriógenezist jellemző szöveti szerveződést a növényben és az in vitro környezetben fejlődő zigóták esetén. Mivel a növényben fejlődő zigóta, ill. embrió nehezen hozzáférhető, az embriógenezis mechanizmusának tanulmányozásához az izolált zigótákból in vitro környezetben fejlődő embriók ideális lehetőséget nyújthatnak. Egy ilyen tanulmány részeként hatékony zigóta-kultúráinknak és megfelelő mikroszkópos preparálási módszereink segítségével a világon elsőként hasonlítottuk össze az in vitro és in vivo zigotikus embriófejlődést. Az in vitro és in vivo embriókat kétsejtes, globuláris, dorziventrálisan differenciálódott és teljesen differenciálódott állapotukban vizsgáltuk. Az in vitro embriók morfológiája és a bennük lévő sejttípusok jól közelítették az in vivo embriókét, ami bizonyítja, hogy az általunk használt tenyésztési rendszer alkalmas az embriógenezis tanulmányozására. Néhány ponton azonban az in vitro embriófejlődés eltért az in vivo állapottól: ellentétben az in vivo állapottal, az első osztódás szimmetrikus volt, és ezt követően a globuláris embriókban egyöntetű sejtek fejlődtek. Később az in vitro embriók kevésbé voltak érettek és differenciáltak, és a sziklevelükben nagy mennyiségű keményítő és fehérje halmozódott fel.
Summary
During the research to be published, a comparison was made between the wheat embryos developing in vitro and in vivo at the level of histology. As the in vivo zygote and embryo is hardly accessible, the embryos developing in vitro from isolated zygotes might provide an ideal platform for studying the process of embryogenesis. Thanks to our efficient culture system and the appropriate method of preparing isolated wheat zygotes for microscopy, the in vitro and in vivo zygotic embryo development was compared as a part of a composed study. Such examination was first made in the world in the present study, The in vitro and in vivo embryos were studied in the two-celled, globular, club-shaped and fully differentiated stages. Embryos developing in vitro closely followed the morphology of their in planta counterparts and their cell types and tissues were also similar, demonstrating the applicability of the present culture system for studying the process of zygotic embryogenesis. However, some important differences were also detected in the case of in vitro development: in contrast to the in vivo situation, the first division of the zygote was symmetrical in vitro and subsequently uniform cells were formed in the globular structures. A lower level of differentiation and maturation and abundant starch and protein accumulation in the scutellum were characteristic to the in vitro embryos.

From the financial support provided by the OTKA (Project 79079), the publication expences of the scientific paper titled as "Histological comparison between wheat embryos developing in vitro from isolated zygotes and those developing in vivo" was covered in the scientific journal Sexual Plant Reproduction.
