Az interdiszciplináris kutatás irodalom- és filmtörténeti folyamatok összefüggéséből von le következtetéseket az 1945 utáni magyar filmművészet formatörténetével kapcsolatosan. A vizsgálat egyik kiindulópontja a két művészeti ág társadalmi szerepfelfogásának egymást kölcsönösen átható történeti mozgása (a kulturális funkció változásai), a másik a nyelvi és képi kifejezésformák formatörténeti párhuzama (a poétikai formák változásai). A megközelítés újszerűségét e két szempont egymásra vonatkoztatása nyújtja. Ennek következtében film és irodalom kapcsolata az adaptáció fogalomkörén túl, jóval szélesebb, kulturális és poétikai horizonton jelenik meg, segítséget nyújtva az 1945 utáni magyar filmművészet – valamint a film mint médium szociokulturális funkciójának – újabb szempontú leírásához.
Summary
This interdisciplinary research focuses on the history of style in Hungarian cinema after 1945 relying on the consequences drawn from literature and film historical processes. The inquiry will follow two parallel lines: one of them interrogates the changes of cultural functions (the all-pervasive historical motions in the understanding of social functions of literature and film), the other one reveals the changes of poetic forms (the style historical parallels of linguistic and visual forms of expression). Integrating these two aspects makes my approach rather innovative. Therefore the relations between film and literature exceed the realm of adaptation, appear on a much broader, cultural and poetical horizon. As a result, my research exposes Hungarian film art after 1945 – and the socio-cultural functions of film as a medium in general - from a new angle.

A Film és irodalom kapcsolata az 1945 utáni magyar filmművészetben című kutatás eredményeképpen elkészült a Forgatott könyvek (A magyar film és az irodalom kapcsolata 1945–1995) című monográfia kézirata. A kutatás célkitűzésének megfelelően az adaptációk tükrében írja le a magyar filmművészet félévszázados formatörténetét. A formatörténeti szempont film és irodalom kapcsolatát a kulturális funkció és a formai hatások kölcsönös, egymást alakító dinamikájában vizsgálja. Mindennek eredményeképpen az államosítástól a rendszerváltásig húzódó periódus interdiszciplináris megközelítésű leírása született meg.
A monográfia 3 részből áll: az 1. rész (Bevezetés) meghatározza az alkalmazott fogalmakat, kijelöli a korszakhatárokat, rendszerezi az adaptációs korpuszt, majd leírja a kulturális funkció és a formai kapcsolat szempontrendszerét. A 2. rész (Korszakelemzések) a korszakhatárok szerinti 7 fejezetben tekinti át az anyagot. Ez a rész képezi a munka gerincét. Az egyes fejezetek a következőképpen épülnek fel: a) a korszak kultúrpolitikai és formatörténeti folyamatainak leírása; b) az adaptációk rendszerezése; c) a tematikus és/vagy műfaji-stiláris csoportba rendezett filmek elemzése; végül d) az adott korszak formatörténeti jegyeinek összefoglalása. A 3. rész (Műelemzések) egy-egy alkotó, mű vagy poétikai megoldás előtérbe állításával a történeti részben bemutatott folyamatok meghatározó elemeinek részletes és speciális vizsgálatait foglalja magában.

The product of my research project “Relations of film and literature in Hungarian film art after 1945” is a manuscript of the monograph titled “Filmed books” (The relations of Hungarian film and literature between 1945 and1995). According to the original plans the research contains the description of the adaptation strategies during a half century period in Hungarian cinema. From its formal historical aspect the relations of film and literature are examined considering the mutual influences and dynamics of cultural functions and formal elements.
The monograph contains the following three parts:
Part 1 (Introduction): defines the notions, concepts used, appoints the date lines, systematizes the corpus of the adaptation then describes the aspects of the related cultural functions and formal elements.
Part 2 (Periods analyses): The seven chapters represent and analyze seven eras. This is the main part of the work. Each chapter considers the following aspects: a) cultural policy and formal history in that certain period b) systematic description of adaptations c) analyses of films organized in groups according to theme and/or genre/style and d) finally it summarizes the formal historical elements used in each period.
Part 3 (Work analyses): by emphasizing certain authors’ works and poetic devices this part shows a very detailed and special examination of the elements mentioned earlier in the historical part.
