Az 56 íves kötet 42 tanulmányt tartalmaz, fekete-fehér képekkel és 32 oldal színes képmelléklettel. A könyv hetedik tagja a Balassi Kiadó "Tanulmányok a transzcendensről" c., nagy szakmai sikereket elért, egyetemi oktatásban is használt könyvsorozatának. Alapja a "Valllásetnológiai fogalmak tudományközi megközelítésben" c. interdiszciplináris konferenciasorozat utolsó alkalma, a 2009. szeptemberében az MTA pécsi bizottásága és a PTE Néprajzkulturális antropológia tanszéke által rendezett konferencia. Ennek témái a vallásantropológia és az etnomedicina találkozási pontjain elhelyezkedő vallásetnológiai fogalmak voltak, amelyeket az előadások tanulmány-változatai változatos nézőpontokból közelítenek meg. A köny szerzői a témák legjobb magyar és részben nemzetközi szakemberei, akik a könyv nyolc fejezetében a folklorisztika, antropológia, vallástudomány és pszichológia megközelítésében mutatják be legújabb kutatási eredményeiket.
Summary
The planned volume is based on the papers of the conference held in Pécs in September 2009, organized by the Pécs Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Department of European Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the Pécs University. The size of the book is cca 650 pages, contains 42 papers and about 80 black-and-white and coloured pictures. The conference was the seventh occasion of a conference series entitled "Religious anthropological concepts in an interdisciplinary approach". The planned book would be also the 7th volume of the successful book series of the Balassi Publishing House, the volumes of which - since the beginning of their publishing - has been accepted as university coursebooks. The authors of the papers are the best experts of their projects, coming, apart from the Hungarians, from 7 countries of Europe, discussing their newest research findings from the point of views of folkoristics, cultural and historical anthropology, religious studies and psychology.

Pócs Éva (szerk.): Mágikus és szakrális medicina. Vallásetnológiai fogalmak tudományközi megközelítésben. (Tanulmányok a transzcendensről VII.)
A könyv terjedelme: 718 oldal, mintegy 50 szövegközi képpel és 16 színes táblával. Az OTKA-támogatás ténye és száma szerepel a kiadványban.
A kötet 40 tanulmányt tartalmaz a következő nagy fejezetekre osztva: Ókori körkép; Démoni betegségek, megszállottság, ördögűzés; Mágia és ellenmágia, rontás és gyógyítása; Gyógyító emberek, szent gyógyítók; Gyógyító szentek, csodás gyógyulások. Varázslók, papok és a gyógyítás tudománya a középkortól a kora újkorig; Samanizmus, spiritualizmus és szellemgyógyászat korunkban; Pszichológia, pszichiátria és gyógyítás; Betegség és halál: nyelvi és irodalmi reprezentációk. A tanulmányokat bevezető előzi meg és a szerzők listája zárja.

The book entitled "Magical and Sacred Medicine. Religious Ethnological Concepts in Interdiscplinary Approach", edited by Éva Pócs was published in November 2010 by the Balassi publishing house.
The full length of the book is 718 pages with cca 50 black and white pictures and with 16 tables of colour photos. The statement about the assistance of the OTKA (together with the number of the project) and the logo of the OTKA has been displayed in the book.
The volume contains 40 papers, divided into the following chapters: Ancient medicine; Demonic illnesses, demonic possession and exorcism; Magic and counter-magic, bewitching and unwitching; Cunning men, saint healers; Healing saints, miraculous healings; Magicians, priests and the medicine from the Middle Ages to the Early Modern Age; Shamanism, spiritualism and spirit medicine in our age; Psychology, psychiatry and healing; Illness and death; Linguistic and literary representations. The book contains also a preface and an author's list.
