Az 1970-es években a teljes magyar népzenei anyagról típusok és stílusok szerint rendezett áttekintés készült. Ennek három kötetesre tervezett kiadása a sorozat I. kötetével 1988-ban (magyar változat) ill. 1990-ben (angol változat) indult meg. Az I. kötet 1000 oldalon 838 népdaltípust közölt 1600 kottapéldával illusztrálva. Egyéb, nemzetközi jelentőségű fontos munkák miatt a folytatás és befejezés elhalasztódott. A projekt keretében most elkészülne a II. kötet, és előkészítő elemzéseket végeznénk a III. kötethez. A II. kötet négy nagy stiláris tömböt tartalmaz; mindegyik bevezető tanulmánnyal indul, majd a stílushoz tartozó típusok ismertetése következik szükséges számú mintapéldával. A sorozat bel- és külföldi tudományosság, valamint az oktatás és a gyakorlati zenei tevékenység számára pontos, tényszerű áttekintést ad a magyar népdalkincs egészéről. Az eredmények egyúttal megjelennek a Népzenei Archívum kezelésében készülő elektronikus adatbázisban is. Ezzel a könyv szerzői népdaloknak általuk létrehozott új osztályozási rendszerét könnyen elérhető és világos formában adják át a következő generációnak.
Summary
In the 1970ies a survey of the full repertory of Hungarian folksong arranged according to types and styles was elaborated. The edition started with volume I of a series (planned to three volumes) in 1988 (Hungarian version) and 1990 (English version). This volume published 838 types illustrated with 1600 music examples on 1000 pages. Because of interference with other, internationally oriented activities the continuation has been delayed. This project envisions the issue of volume II and an analytical preparation of vol. III. Vol. II contains four large stylistic blocks; each introduced by a lengthier study, then the types belonging to the given style are presented with the illustration if music examples in proportionate number. The series offers an exact and realistic summary of the whole treasure of Hungarian folksongs to the scholarship in- and outside, to the general specialized education and also for practical music performers. The results are to be integrated in the electronic database managed by the Folkmusic Archives of the Institute for musicology. The authors wish to transmit their new classification system in an accessible and clear form to the following generation.

A pályázat eredeti célkitűzésének elkészült A magyar népdaltípusok katalógusa II. kötet magyar és angol nyelvű változatának törzsszövege, beleértve a nagy mennyiségű kottapéldát és a mutatókat. A kötet kiadásához a továbbiakban szükséges lesz a kiadvány pontos paramétereinek meghatározására, a nyelvi lektorálásokra, az anyag tördelésére és ezt követően legalább még két további korrektúrafordulóra. A lehetőségektől függően tervezzük egy függelék kötet kiadását is, amelyben mind a két kötet típusdallamait adnánk közre.
Összesen 530 főtípus leírása, valamint 73 altípus, illetve jegyzetben szerepeltetendő típus kommentárja készült el, valamint az egyes típusok illusztrálására a típusdallamokon kívül 1831 adat kottagrafikája. Ezen kívül elkészítettük a kötethez a magyar népzenetudományi közlésekben járatos, valamint a típusszám megfeleltetések mutatóit.
A Típusrendből összesen 65572 oldal szkennelése (digitalizálása) történt meg a Zenetudományi Intézet népzenei gyűjteményében, valamint a típusokat bemutató hangzópéldák is gyarapodtak 500 tétellel az online kiadáshoz.
A Típusrend által képviselt tudományos eredményt a pályázat ideje alatt több fórumon is bemutattuk konferenciák és publikációk keretében.
Results in English
According to the original aim of our project we compiled the Hungarian, and English versions of the main corpus of the text of the Catalogue of Hungarian Folksong Types II, together with musical examples illustrating types, and indeces. For publishing the volume it is the work of the future to give the exact parameters, the design, and grafic layout of the volume, and to make proof-readings both in English, and in Hungarian. We plan to edit a Supplement volume as well, to publish all the melodies of folksong types of both volumes.
We wrote the descriptions of all together 530 main types, and 73 subtypes, or only in notes represented types, and completed of the graphics of 1831 folk song illusdtrating types, and the indeces used in Hungarian ethnomusicological writings.
We digitized 65572 sheets with transcriptions from the so-called Dobszay–Szendrei system stored in the folk music collection of Institute for Musicology RCH HAS, and enlarged the sound examples of online edition of the system.
We reported the scientific results are represented by the Dobszay–Szendrei system in different symposiums and publications during the period of the project.
