A protestáns kisegyházak magyarországi története sok úttörő kezdeményezés ellenére ma is a kutatás fehér foltjának tekinthető. Már készültek monográfiák a nazarénusokról, baptistákról, metodistákról és az adventistákról, de a többi kisegyházzal kapcsolatosan még az alapvető résztanulmányok is hiányoznak. Ennek ellenére ezek a vallási közösségek fontos szerepet töltöttek be a 20. századi magyar egyháztörténelemben. Az összegyűjtött források és a résztanulmányok módot adnak arra, hogy ezeknek a vallási közösségeknek történetét, életét, magyar társadalomban betöltött szerepét átfogóan vizsgáljuk. Nem célunk az egyes felekezetek belső történetének részletes elemzése, hanem egy átfogó, a társadalom általános történetével párhuzamos kép kiépítését tekintjük feladatunknak. Szeretnénk az eddig publikált kutatások eredményeit összegyűjteni és kritikailag elemezni, valamint az eddig feltárt és feltárandó forrásokat ebbe a képbe beemelni. A rendelkezésünkre álló statisztikai és helytörténeti adatokat térben és időben ábrázolni szeretnénk a szociológiai és vallásföldrajzi munkamódszerek segítségével. A célunk a hiányzó résztanulmányok elkészítése után egy összefoglaló monográfia elkészítése az 1980 előtt megszerveződött szabadegyházi mozgalmakról.
Summary
In spite of some pioneer initiatives, a history of the free churches in Hungary has not been written. Monographies about Nazarens, Baptists, Methodists, Adventists have done, but fundamental studies relating to other free churches are also missed. In spite of this, these denominations had a very important role in the Hungarian church history in 20th century. Collected sources and studies provide a way to analyze the history, and life of the free churches and their role in Hungarian society comprehensively. Our goals are not to analyze the inner life of each church in detail, but we have considered our duty to give an image of them parallel with the general history of the society. We would like to collect and analyze the results of published studies critically and put unpublished and uncollected sources into this picture. We would like to show statistical and local historical data in time and space with means of Sociology and Statistics. After finishing missed studies, we would like to write and publish a general monograph about the free churches which were organized before 1980.
