Az MTA Zenetudományi Intézete népdalgyűjteményének – közkeletű nevén akadémiai népdalgyűjteménynek – új stílusú része (hozzávetőleg 60 000 lejegyzés) egy minden eddiginél korszerűbb, sokoldalúbb és informatívabb zenei rendszerbe mindenestől be lett rendezve. A rendezett anyagról egy, az egész új stílust áttekinthetővé tevő négykötetes összefoglaló kiadvány készült, melyben a stílus legfontosabb 1600 dallamtípusa bemutatásra kerül típusonként egy vagy egynéhány reprezentatív példa révén. A dallampéldákhoz bőséges jegyzetanyag kapcsolódik, mely ismerteti az adott típus zenei jegyeit, korai kéziratos és nyomtatott forrásait, földrajzi elterjedését, a hozzá jellemzően kapcsolódó szövegtípusokat, végül más kiadványokban már korábban megjelent további változatait. A kiadvány bevezető tanulmánya – a világon elsőként – feltárja és kifejti, magának az anyagközlésnek rendszerében pedig demonstrálja egy népzenei stílus fejlődéstörténetét és ezzel új teret nyit és remélhetőleg új impulzust ad a szakterületen. A kiadvány 2664 dallampéldájának mintegy 70%-a eredeti felvételeken hallgatható lesz a mellékelt CD-ROM-okon.

A comprehensive, new systematization has been implemented for the New Style division (about 60 000 transcriptions) in the folk song collection at the Institute for Musicology of the HAS into a modern, versatile and informative musical system. A book of a four-volume series of comprehensive survey about the organized New Style folk music and its systematization has been completed, in which the 1600 most important melody types of this style are being presented, with at least one representative example for each type. There are abundant notes and commentaries for the melody samples, reviewing the musical characteristics of the given types, the sources in early manuscripts and printed forms, the geographical expansions, the types of typically associated words, and further versions occurring in previously published works. The introductory study of the book – for the first time ever in the world – reveals and explains, and in the presentation of the material demonstrates the development history of a particular style in folk music. About 70% of the 2664 melody samples in the manuscript will be available in audio format as well on the attached CD-ROMs, in their original recordings.

PUB-K 103291: A magyar népdal új stílusa c. mű megjelentetése (2012. I. 1. – 2013. VI. 30.)
A szerződésben vállalt publikáció a szerződésben rögzített módon, terjedelemben és tartalommal hiánytalanul megjelent. Négy részre tagolódik:
1) Az új stílus fejlődéstörténete, jegyei és rendszere – bevezető tanulmány, 116 oldal;
2) A dallamtípusok mutatói – szótagszám, sorvégzők, forma, hangsor, gyűjtési helyek és kapcsolódó szövegtípusok szerint, 337 oldal;
3) Az új stílus dallamvilága – a stílus valamennyi számottevő dallamtípusának ismertetése és bemutatása típusonként 1–2–3–4, összesen 2664 eddig még sehol nem publikált dalpélda kottájával és szövegével, 3084 oldal;
4) Bibliográfia és a dalpéldák mutatói – 121 oldal.
Összesen 3658 oldal, négy kötetben arányosan elosztva, folyamatos lapszámozással.
Egyetlen apró eltérés a tervezettől, hogy a 36 órányi eredeti népzenei hangfelvételt tartalmazó melléklet nem kötetenként egy-egy CD-ROM, hanem – gazdasági és kezelhetőségi okokból – egy közös DVD-ROM formájában került megvalósításra.
A copyright oldal megfelelő helyen és módon föltünteti, hogy mind a kutatást, mind a kiadást az OTKA támogatta.
A könyvből három példányt kapott az MTA BTK Zenetudományi Intézet, egyet-egyet az MTA, ELTE, SzTE, ME, PTE, DE, PPKE és KRE könyvtára.
