A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései szakemberek számára
Itt írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit a témában jártas szakember számára.
Korábbi, több mint két évtizedes egyiptomi terepmunkánk irányát az eddig kevéssé vizsgált korszakok elit sírművészetének, s a sírokban megjelenő művészeti, vallástörténeti, technikai változások megismerése indokolta. Az utóbbi évek azonban új helyzetet teremtettek kérdésfeltevéseinket és lehetőségeinket illetően egyaránt. Az egyes objektumok szükségszerű vizsgálata során egy-egy temetőrészlet nagyobb régészeti, történeti összefüggéseinek vizsgálatát is módunkban állt megkezdeni. Három kutatócsoportunk, Fábián Zoltán és Schreiber Gábor vezetésével a Hoha-domb teljes déli lejtőjét, Bács Tamás pedig a Seik Abd el-Qurna domb egy igen nagy részletét tárja fel.

Mi a kutatás alapkérdése?
Ebben a részben írja le röviden, hogy mi a kutatás segítségével megválaszolni kívánt probléma, mi a kutatás kiinduló hipotézise, milyen kérdéseket válaszolnak meg a kísérletek.
A megkezdett munkák révén az ismert objektumok mellett a várakozásoknak megfelelően számos új jelenség is teljes vagy részleges feltárásra került, amelyek már most döntően megváltoztatták a thébai nekropolisz két jól körülhatárolható körzetének, a Hoháról és a Seik Abd el-Qurnáról alkotott korábbi képünket. E munkák folytatásaként ezért a négyéves pályázati időszakban a kutatás a következő sírok kultuszhelyek és körzetük feltárását és feldolgozását tervezi:
TT 65 Projekt: az ún. Mond-sír, (18 Dyn.), „Saff-tomb 1”, TT 67 (18 Dyn.), TT 65 (18/20 Dyn.).
TT 184 Projekt: TT 185, TT 403, TT 184 (19 Dyn.), TT 412 (18 Dyn.), TT -43- (ramesszida), TT 205 (18 Dyn.), Saff-2 sír, TT-42-, TT 204, TT-41-.
TT -400- Projekt: TT -400-, TT 179/180, TT -64- (előudvar), “Keleti Sír” (East Tomb).

Mi a kutatás jelentősége?
Röviden írja le, milyen új perspektívát nyitnak az alapkutatásban az elért eredmények, milyen társadalmi hasznosíthatóságnak teremtik meg a tudományos alapját. Mutassa be, hogy a megpályázott kutatási területen lévő hazai és a nemzetközi versenytársaihoz képest melyek az egyediségei és erősségei a pályázatának!
A magyarországi egyiptológia, amely oktatásának 100 éves évfordulóját 2010-ben ünnepelhettük, belső fejlődésének egyik kiemelkedően fontos állomását jelentette az 1983-ban megkezdett, s 1995/96 óta három alprojekt keretében folyó egyiptomi helyszíni kutatás. Tudománystratégiai szempontból ez által válhatott ugyanis teljes körűvé a honi egyiptológia csatlakozása a nemzetközi gyakorlathoz, azaz ez alapozhatta meg az egyetemi oktatás és kutatás, múzeumi gyűjteményben folyó itthoni kutatómunka mellett hosszú távú tudományos jelenlétünket Egyiptomban.

A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára
Ebben a fejezetben írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit alapműveltséggel rendelkező laikusok számára. Ez az összefoglaló a döntéshozók, a média, illetve az érdeklődők tájékoztatása szempontjából különösen fontos az NKFI Hivatal számára.
A több mint két évtizede megkezdett egyiptomi magyar ásatások folytatása a thébai elittemetők két nagyobb körzetében (El-Hoha, Sejk-Abdel-Gurna), és a feltárásokkal kapcsolatos kutatások, melyek az ókori Egyiptom történetének minden főbb korszakát érintik, a szakrális építészet építészettörténeti kutatásával, a sírművészet tematikus, ikonográfiai és technikai vizsgálatával, a halotti szövegek vallástörténeti, tartalmi, filológiai, hagyománytörténeti szempontú megközelítésével.

Summary of the research and its aims for experts
Describe the major aims of the research for experts.
Our previous, more than two decade long fieldwork has concentrated on the study of individual tombs as sources for the artistic, religious and technical aspects of elite burials of the less well-known periods of the Theban necropolis. More recently, however, the situation has changed both in respect of our opportunities and our scientific interests. With the consent of the Egyptian authorities it has become possible to expand our field of study to include larger sections of the necropolis. Two of our research groups/projects (headed by Zoltán Fábián and Gábor Schreiber resp.) have now started the micro-regional study of the El-Khokha hill, while the third (led by Tamás Bács) that of a defined area on the hill of Sheikh Abd el-Qurna.

What is the major research question?

Besides long known ones, within such a diachronic framework, we have already unearthed new features that have significantly altered our understanding of the development of these two necropoleis. In accordance with the long-term research design drawn up for their study the projected fieldwork by projects then includes the continuation of our excavation work and documentary efforts in:
TT 65 Project: the so-called Mond-tomb (Dyn. 18), „Saff-tomb 1”, TT 67 (Dyn. 18), TT 65 (Dyn. 18/20).
TT 184 Project: TT 185, TT 403, TT 184 (Dyn. 19), TT 412 (Dyn. 18), TT -43- (Ramesside), TT 205 (Dyn. 18), Saff-2 tomb, TT-42-, TT 204, TT-41-.
TT -400- Project: TT -400-, TT 179/180, TT -64- (forecourt), “East Tomb”.

What is the significance of the research?

The evolution and development of Hungarian Egyptology, the centenary of which was celebrated in 2010, was greatly enhanced by the commencement of fieldwork in 1983 and its continuation by three sub-projects since 1995/96. Besides the obvious advances in academic research it has generated and continues to do so, it also institutionalised our long-term commitment to field-work and archaeological research in Egypt.

The project’s aim is the continuation of the more than two decade long fieldwork of the Hungarian Mission in two areas of the Theban elite necropolis (El-Khokha, Sheikh Abd el-Qurna) and associated research that relates to all major historic periods of ancient Egypt and which includes the study of sacred architecture, that of the artistic, religious and technical aspects of elite burials, as well as the religio-historical and philological analyses of mortuary literature.

TT 65 Projekt A thébai nekropolisz Sheikh Abd el-Qurna nevű dombjának 1995-től folyó kutatása során a 2012-es és 2013-as ásatási évadokban megkezdődhetett a 2009-ben talált Saff-tomb 1 nagyméretű udvarának részleges régészeti feltárása. 2014-2015-ben a helyszíni kutatások középpontjában a korai Újbirodalom egyik legnagyobb sírkápolnája (TT 67) állt. Belső tereinek teljes kitisztítása és dokumentálása után az előudvar részleges feltárása történt meg. TT 184 Projekt Évenkénti terepmunka: feltárás a thébai Khokha domb déli lejtőjén, a TT 184 körzetében 10 díszített sziklasír feltárásának, epigráfiai kutatásának, helyreállításának folytatása, a tárgyi leletek feldolgozása. Az eddigi munkálatok folytatása mellett az utóbbi évek eredményei az Óbirodalom korából származó két sziklasír (TT 185, TT 413) feltárásának, restaurálásának folytatása. Az ásatási terület déli részén újabb, eddig ismeretlen sziklasír feltárásának megkezdése. TT -400- Projekt (=South Khokha Project) A pályázati programmal összhangban a South Khokha Project 2013 és 2016 között folytatta a thébai 179 és -400- számú thébai sziklasírok régészeti feltárását, illetve építészeti helyreállítást végzett a 32 és -64- számú sírok zónájában. 2013 és 2016 között elkészült a korai 18. dinasztia időszakában épült TT 179 kultuszkápolnáinak epigráfiai dokumentációja és a másodlagos helyiségek feltárása. A pályázati időszakon belül a legjelentősebb feltárási és dokumentációs munkák a -400- jelű ramesszida sírban folytak.

TT 65 Project Research in the Theban necropolis conducted since 1995 on the northeast slope of the hill named Sheikh Abd el-Qurna in the seasons of 2012 and 2013 started the excavation of Saff-tomb 1’s forecourt, a rock-cut tomb originally found in 2009. In 2014 and 2015 archaeological work was concentrated on TT 67 with the re-clearing of its interior halls and corridor and the partial excavation of its forecourt. TT 184 Project Fieldwork each year on the southern slope of the Theban el-Khokha hillock. Archaeological, epigraphic research and restoration in TT 184, 185, 204, 205, „206”, 412, 413, -41-, -42-, -43-. Besides the systematic archaeological work, the results of the past few years are the two most ancient rock cut tombs (Old Kingdom) of the necropolis (TT 185, TT 413). Excavation of a till now unknown funerary monument on the southern part of the concession territory. TT -400- Project (=South Khokha Project) In accordance with the research programme, the South Khokha Project of the Hungarian Archaeological Mission to Thebes continued, between 2013 and 2016, the archaeological study of TT 179 and -400-, as well as the architectural restoration of TT 32 and -64-. In the said period, the epigraphic documentation of the early Eighteenth Dynasty cult chapel of TT 179 has been completed, as well as the excavation of secondary chambers connected with it. The greatest deal of fieldwork between 2013 and 2016 focused on TT -400-.
