A kutatócsoport az előző 3 OTKA, valamint 3 TéT pályázatokkal támogatott tevékenységét akarja folytatni, ill. kiegészíteni a következő területeken:

1. Bonyolult rendszerek megbízhatósági vizsgálatai
Véges forrású inhomogén, visszatérő igényekkel rendelkező egy vagy több kiszolgálós sorbanállási rendszereket szeretnénk vizsgálni, ahol a kiszolgálók és a források is meghibásodhatnak. Célunk a szokásos egyensúlyi rendszerjellemzők meghatározása, pl. kihasználtságok, várakozási idők, stb.

2. Infokommunikációs hálózatok teljesítményelemzése
Célunk olyan sorbanállási modellek konstruálása, mely jól alkalmazhatók olyan hálózatokra is, ahol az egyes csomópontok alkotják a forrásokat, a helyi forgalmuk paraméterei időben változnak, és mielőtt igényt generálnak a központi gép felé, több fázist is bejárnak.
Fontos szerepet szánunk a visszatérő igényeket tartalmazó hálózatoknak is, amelyek a veszteséges ill. várakozásos rendszerek közötti kompromisszumos megoldást képviselik.
Foglalkozunk a megkülönböztetett szolgáltatást nyújtó DiffServ rendszerekkel is.
Be kívánunk kapcsolódni a GRID-rendszerek hatékonysági elemzését célzó kutatásokba is.
Harmadik generációs celluláris mobil hálózatokra akarunk sztochasztikus modelleket készíteni.

3. Hatékonyságvizsgálati szoftverek fejlesztése
Együttműködünk német, angol, valamint finn kutatócsoportok által létrehozott szoftverek továbbfejlesztésében, amelyek nagy segítséget jelentenek a problémák formális megfogalmazásában, és a mennyiségi jellemzők meghatározásában. Ezen programokban több modul, pl. szimuláció, nem kellőképpen működik. Célunk ezek implementálása, és az ezzel kapcsolatos esettanulmányok elkészítése.

The research group continues the research supported by former OTKA and TéT grants. The main fields of the investigation are:

1. Performance Evaluation of Complex Systems
We would like to investigate finite source inhomogeneous queueing systems with retrial jobs, where servers and sources are subject to breakdown. The goal is to determine the system characteristics, e.g., utilization, average response times, etc.

2. Performance Evaluation of Info-Communication Networks
The aim is to build queueing models which are well applicable to networks where the nodes are the sources itself, the parameters of the local traffic change in time (random environment), and walk through different phases before generating a task toward the central machine.
The queueing networks with retrial jobs have a great importance. They are the balance between the systems with finite sources and with losses.
Beside the investigation of DiffServ systems, we would like to join the research of the performance evaluation of GRID-systems.
We are to build stochastic models for third generation cellular mobile networks.

3. Development of Performance Evaluation Softwares
We are in cooperation with research groups from Germany, England, and Finland to improve performance evaluation tools which are originally developed at their research centres. These tools have a great importance to formulate problems and to compute the quantitative characteristics. Some modules of these programs (e.g., simulation) are to be improved. Our goal is to implement these issues and make some case studies.

Az elért eredmények rövid ismertetése: Kutatásainkat lényegében a tervnek megfelelően végeztük. Összességében: 15 nemzetközi folyóirat cikk, számos nemzetközi konferencia előadás, 18 nemzetközi konferencia kiadványban megjelent cikk. Sztrik János szakmai együttműködés keretében végzett kutatásokat Dél-Koreában, Németországban, Grúziában. Lakatos László számos konferencián tartott előadást. Elért eredményeink: I.Bonyolult rendszerek megbízhatósági vizsgálatai 1. A Pollaczek-Hincsin formula vizsgálata ciklikus rendszerekben 2. Véges-forrású, visszatétő igényeket tartalmazó sorbanállási rendszerek alkalmazása önszerveződő rendszereknél a MOSEL szoftver segítségével 3. Strukturált Markov-láncok analízise, különös tekintettel a véges-forrású sorbanállási rendszerekre II. Infokommunikációs hálózatok hatékonyságvizsgálata 1. Szétosztott protokollok modellezése 2. The researcj was carried iut according to the plan. The accepted project was essentially fullfilled. In summary: 15 papers in international journals, several conference presentations, 18 papers in international conference Proceedings. János Sztrik carried researh in Korea, Germany and Georgia. László Lakatos took part several international conference. Obtained results: I. Reliability investigations of complex systems 1. Pollaczek-Khintchine formalas in cyclic systems 2.
