A középkori zsolozsmarepertoárok összehasonlító kutatása mögött messze elmarad a misehagyományok hasonló vizsgálata. Emögött részben az a tapasztalat húzódik meg, hogy utóbbiak általában véve egységesebbek, s az univerzalitás versus lokalitás témakör számára kevesebb tapasztalati anyagot kínálnak. Ez csak részben igaz, a misehagyományok is sok ágra bomlanak, az egyes egyházmegyék, lokális szokásrendek sajátos arculatú repertoárokat alakítottak ki, amelyek az egységes elemek mellett számos variábilis pontot tartalmaznak. Ezek átfogó vizsgálata azonban nehézségekbe ütközik. Míg az officiumkutatást olyan nemzetközi jelentőségű projektek és adatbázisok segítik, mint a Cantus Index és a hazai CAO-ECE, a miserepertoárok kutatója főként egyedi munkákra, forráskiadásokra és könyvtári kutatásokra támaszkodhat. Ezen próbált változtatni a Régi Zenetörténet Osztály, amikor megkezdte a legfontosabb magyarországi miseforrások tartalomjegyzékének elkészítését. A jelen pályázat egyik célja e munka szisztematikus bővítése, kiterjesztése más -- elsősorban közép-európai -- hagyományokra. Emellett egy olyan liturgikus sablon kidolgozását tervezzük, amely a liturgikus funkciók és az ünnepek sorrendjének (numerikus) rögzítésével lehetővé teszi a források, illetve tradíciók összehasonlítását. E tekintetben mintául szolgál a CAO-ECE rendszere. További cél a feldolgozott anyag online elérhetővé, kutathatóvá tétele. Az online változat hasonló funkciót töltene be, mint a zsolozsmaforrások esetében a sokak által használt, nemzetközi presztizsű Cantus Index. A projekthez publikációs tervek kapcsolódnak: a) egyes kiválasztott miseforrások kiadása CD-ROM-on; b) egy-egy misehagyomány több forrás alapján leszűrt ideális repertoárjának kritikai kiadása.

The comparative research of medieval mass traditions lags behind that in the area of the office. Partly it is due to the experience that mass repertories are more uniform and, as a consequence, offer less empirical observations for the topic of Universality versus Locality. However, it is only partly true: also the mass traditions have several branches. The individual dioceses and local uses had different repertories with different physiognomy which, apart from the stable elements, contained numerous variable points as well. Yet, a comprehensive study of them could be carried out only with difficulty. While the study of the offices is supported by advanced projects and online databases such as the Cantus Index and CAO-ECE, scholars of the mass repertory must be satisfied with individual studies, source editions and personal studies in the libraries. Members of the Department of Early Music tried to change this situation by starting to make detailed (electronic) inventaries of the most important Hungarian manuscripts for the mass. One of the aims of the present application is a systematic extension of this work to further -- primarily Central European -- traditions. In addition to this, we intend to develop a stereotyped liturgical template, which, by the (numeric) fixation of the liturgical functions and the order of feasts, could make it possible to compare sources and traditions. In this respect CAO-ECE would serve as a model. One of the further aims is to make the source indices available online for international research. The online version would function as a counterpart to the prestigeous Cantus Project which is devoted to the office repertory. Publishing plans connected to the project: a) complete edition of single manuscripts using digitized facsimile images and electronic methods; b) critical edition of the 'ideal repertory' of selected mass traditions based on the analysis of several sources.

Elkészült az európai miserepertoárok összehasonlító rendszere. A rendszer kidolgozása két lépésben történt, a futamidő első felében a Temporale, majd később a Sanctorale szabványosított sablonja készült el. Ez már önmagában sok forrás átvizsgálását feltételezte, annak felmérése érdekében, hogy milyen zenei tételeknek kell helyet kapniuk egy ideális „teljes” rendszerben. Ezt követte, szintén két fázisban, a források szabványosított inventáriumának elkészítése. A temporale rendszerébe összesen kb. 100 graduale, illetve missale inventáriuma került be, ez kb. 40 magyarországi és 60 külföldi forrást jelent. A külföldi források nagyobb része közép-európai (cseh-morva, lengyel, délnémet), de minden nagyobb régiót reprezentál néhány forrás. Az utolsó időszakban a források sanctorale részének rendszerbe illesztése is elkezdődött, ezek egy részének bedolgozása azonban a már a pályázat lezárulása utáni idő feladata. Két honlap is készült az inventáriumok közzétételére: egy hazai igények szerint, egy másik pedig a hasonló külföldi adatbázisok rendszerébe illeszkedve. A forrásfeldolgozás megkönnyítése érdekében intenzív forrásdigitalizálás is folyt, a futamidő alatt kb. 150 forrás digitalizálása fejeződött be (mikrofilmről vagy helyszíni fotózással). Elkészült az Ulászló-graduale kiadásához szükséges bevezető és fényképanyag, valamint a kódex tartalmának és képanyagának kereshető adatbázisát tartalmazó CD-ROM anyaga.

A system has been created for the comparison of European Mass repertories. It took place in two stages, in the first phase the standardized template was created for the Temporale, then during the second phase for the Sanctorale. The working-out of the system required beforehand the survey of many sources in order to measure which musical items should be taken up in a ‘complete’ ideal system. It was followed by the inventorying of the sources according to the standardized system. At first about 100 sources were entered into the Temporale system (c. 40 Hungarian and 60 foreign sources). The majority of the foreign sources are from Central Europe, but all other larger regions are represented by at least a few sources. In the last phase of the project the insertion of the Sanctorale parts of the sources has started, but a portion of this task is unfinished yet. We prepared two websites for the publication of the inventories: one for our local requirements, and another to be integrated into the system of similar foreign internet databases. The analysis of the sources were connected with their digitization, during the project c. 150 sources have been digitized (partly from microfilms, partly from the original manuscripts). For the planned edition of the Graduale Wladislai we prepared the complete introductory study, the digital photos of the manuscript for the facsimile and the material of the CD-ROM containing the searchable database of the inventory and images of the codex.
