A globalizációval párosuló piacgazdasági átmenet számos problémát okozott az egyes országok gazdaságában és különösen erősen érintette a mezőgazdasági kistermelőket. A fő kérdés az, miképpen tudnak a kistermelők a kialakuló új élelmiszercsatornákba bekapcsolódni és ebben az élelmiszerláncok milyen segítséget adnak neki. A kutatás során, a sertés és a zöldség- és gyümölcs ágazatban, két kérdőíves felmérés alapján vizsgáljuk meg, hogy a hazai mezőgazdasági kistermelők miképpen tudják a kínálkozó előnyöket a maguk javára kihasználni.

The combination of transition and globalization since early 1990s have caused dramatic changes in supply chains of transition countries affecting small farms very much. The main question is: how the small producers can be included into regoverning markets, how small producers have to adjust to the new ecomnnomic envrionment, and how the big multinationals in the food chains can help their inclusion? Based on two surveys the research will try to point out how small farms can take the advantage of reorganized food chains in pig and fruits and vegetable production in Hungary.

kutatási eredmények (magyarul)
A kutatási pályázat eredetileg a 2011-14. évekre vonatkozott, ezt követően az időszak 2015.12.31-ig történő meghosszabbítását kértük. A kutatás több irányból arra a fő kérdésre kereste a választ, hogy a hazai kisgazdaságok milyen sikeres mintákat mutatnak fel piaci kapcsolataikban és innovációs stratégiájukban. A kérdések megválaszolásához először 2011-ben 231, majd 2014-ben 302 közép- és kisvállalkozás megkérdezésével piaci kapcsolatrendszerük- és innovációs magatartásuk jellemzőinek megismerésére felméréseket végeztünk az élelmiszerlánc teljes hosszában (mezőgazdasági termelő-, feldolgozó- és kereskedő vállalkozások), továbbá kialakítottuk a vizsgálatokhoz szükséges adatbázisokat. Kutatói munkánkat nagy intenzitással végeztük, melynek eredményeként összesen 38 közleményről számolhatunk be az alábbi bontásban: 15 (javarészt külföldi) konferencia közlemény, 9 folyóiratcikk, 5 konferencia cikk, 3 könyv, 2 könyvfejezet és 4 egyéb közlemény. Öt esetben nem került feltüntetésre az NKFI (OTKA) támogatás. A három IF-es cikk közül kettőben igen, egyben viszont nem szerepel a támogatás ténye. Két további IF-es cikkünk (British Food Journal és Agricultural Economics - Czech) most van megjelenés alatt - mindkettőben jelezzük az NKFI támogatását. Kutatásunk széles nemzetközi figyelem mellett zajlott, aminek eredménye egy bilaterális szerződéses kapcsolat a perugiai egyetemmel, továbbá egy H2020-as kutatási projekt konzorcium kezdeményezése.

The research proposal originally has covered the 2011-14 period which was extended till the end of 2015 by the OTKA Office. The main research question was seeking answers for the question, what successful models can be shown up by the Hungarian agri-food SMEs in their market relations and innovation strategies. In order to answer these questions, we carried out two surveys: first in 2011 (231 SMEs), then in 2014 (SMEs). In the questionnaires we were asking about the characteristics of their market connections and networks well as their innovation behavior. We have asked the participants of the full food chain: agricultural producers, processors and traders. Based on the outcomes of these surveys we have set up the data base necessary to our research. We expressed very intense research activity of which we have 38 publications as result indicators in the following manner: 15 conference presentations, 9 papers in different journals, 5 conference proceedings, 3 books, 2 book chapters and 4 other publications. In 5 of them we have not indicated the financial support of NKFI/OTKA. In one of the papers in IF journal we did not indicated the fact of financial support, although we did it in the two others. We have two more papers in press in IF journals (British Food Journal and Agricultural Economics - Czech), where in both we underline the financial support of OTKA. Our research was in light of broad international arena. We have two more additional outcomes from this fact: one bilateral agreement with Perugia University and one research consortia in H2020 project initiation.
