A kutatási projekt elsődleges célja egy európai szintű pozíció- és sebesség adatbázis összeállítása volt az országos szintű GNSS állomáshálózatok eredményeinek integrációjával. A széleskörű együttműködés keretében 31 hálózat feldolgozásából származó, több mint 3000 állomást tartalmazó, napi és heti szintű, 1-12 év időszakot lefedő SINEX formátumú adatot gyűjtöttünk és dolgoztunk fel. Egyedülálló, homogén, harmonizált európai szintű adatbázis állt össze, több lépcsőben szűrt, ellenőrzött adatok felhasználásával. A CATREF szoftver alkalmazásával két szinten, a heti hálózati integráció után egy teljes egységes kiegyenlítéssel állítottuk elő a sebességmezőt. Számos iterációra volt szükség a folyamatosan bővülő adatbázis miatt. Az eredményekről rendszeresen beszámoltunk rangos nemzetközi fórumokon. Az együttműködés keretében két referált folyóiratban megjelent cikkhez járultam hozzá, a végső eredményeket bemutató cikk a GPS Solutions folyóirat számára lett előkészítve. A grafikus és számszerű eredményeket az EPNCB weboldalán (http://www.epncb.oma.be/_densification/ ) publikáltuk. A projekt eredményei számos területen hasznosíthatóak a geofizikai értelmezéstől kezdve az európai geodéziai vonatkoztatási rendszer modernizációjáig. A megkezdett munka bizonyosan folytatódni fog az EPOS (European Plate Observing System) ERIC és az EU-GMS (European Ground Motion Service) keretében, igazán széleskörű publicitást adva és a gyakorlatot is szolgáló eredményeket szolgáltatva.

The research project aimed at the set up of a Europe-wide position/velocity database, based on the integration of national long term processing of permanent GNSS network data. We collected daily/weekly processing results stemming from 31 Analysis Centres from more than 3000 permanent stations. On the European level a uniquely harmonized dense database was built up, called EPN Densification. The length of the observation series is between 1-12 years. The datasets were checked and inter-compared, bad quality data was removed, station meta data was harmonized. The integration was done in two steps, first the individual solutions were merged on the weekly level, then these weekly series were adjusted together. All computations were done with the CATREF software and in-house developed supporting tools. The status and results were several times reported to the community. Connected to the final publication (sent to GPS Solutions) the results are published in the EPN Central Bureau’s website. The exploitation of the product is manifold, this will be used in large scale geophysical interpretation, extension of the European geodetic reference frame, referencing local geophysical studies and in EPOS ERIC (European Plate Observing System) and EU-GMS (European Ground Motion Service). The continuation of the work is guaranteed as we will provide one combined velocity product for EPOS ERIC on long term and EU-GMS needs these velocities for validation and “mosaicing” of the radar results.
