A projektben véges geometriai problémákat vizsgáltunk algebrai módszerekkel. A scattered fogalom általánosításaként definiáltuk a h-scattered altereket.

In this project we studied finite geometric problems with algebraic techniques. We proved a conjecture on the number of inequivalent maximum scattered subspaces (and corresponding MRD-codes) contained in the earliest sporadic family of such objects. We generalised the notion of scatteredness and studied h-scattered subspaces. We introduced a duality relation among them, proved an upper bound on their dimension, gave constructions obtaining this upper bound and proved particular combinatorial properties of these extremal objects. We generalised further this notion and introduced evasive subspaces. In some of the open cases we determined the maximum possible dimension of scattered subspaces. We found the first examples of MRD-codes which are not of Gabidulin type but the sizes of both of their idealisers attain the maximum. We also proved non-existence results for such objects and linked them to Moore type matrices. We proved characterisation type results and presented various constructions for generalised Korchmáros-Mazzocca arcs. Under certain conditions, we could prove that they have a nucleus. We investigated point sets of AG(2,q) with regular intersection patterns with respect to parallel lines. We proved that the lines with exceptional intersection numbers are contained in a small degree curve of the dual plane. In PG(4n+1,q), q>2, we proved that the lower bound of Segre from 1959 for the size of the smallest complete cap is essentially sharp.
