A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos/innovációs rendezvény bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében. Pályázatom célja, hogy bemutassam a hosszú távú vonuló madárfajokat érintő természetvédelmi problémákkal foglalkozó kutatásaimat a 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology és a 17th Eurasian Grassland Conference konferenciákon, előadás vagy poszter formájában, hiszen az e fajokat érintő eredmények nemzetközi érdeklődésre tartanak számot. Ezek a rendezvények Európa legnagyobb természetvédelmei biológiai témájú konferenciái, amelyek lehetőséget teremtenek témával foglalkozó összes szereplő számára a legújabb kutatási eredmények megvitatására. Mindkét konferencia sorozat eseményeit számos európai helyszínen, ezres nagyságrendű résztvevővel rendezték meg korábban. Az rendezvények színvonalát a rendező egyetemek mellett a Society of Conservation Biology és a European Dry Grassland Group (EDGG), mint a konferencia soroztatok szervezői is garantálják. Mindkettő nagy taglétszámú, nívós, nemzetközi szakmai szervezet.
A kutatói életpálya során elengedhetetlen, hogy a tudományos eredmények minél több embert érjenek el, hiszen ez biztosítja azok gyakorlati hasznosulást. Kutatási témám bemutatása nagyszabású nemzetközi konferenciákon felhívja a figyelmet a már publikált és a jövőben publikálandó eredményeimre, várhatóan segítve azok idézettségének növekedését. A konferencia részvétel további előnye a szakmai tapasztalatcsere és illetve a szakmai kapcsolatok kialakítása, amely mind egyéni, mind pedig intézményi szinten hasznos lehet a jövőbeli kooperációk létrejöttéhez. Jelentős költségük miatt a nívós nemzetközi konferenciákon való részvétel külön pályázati forrás nélkül csak ritkán lehetséges a fiatal kutatók számára, ezért jelent kiváló lehetőséget a jelen pályázat.
A projekt összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Adjon egy rövid, közérthető ismertetést a látogatni tervezett nemzetközi rendezvényről, illetve a részvétel céljáról, várható eredményeiről. A fiatal kutatók számára fontos, hogy eredményeiket személyesen is bemutassák a nemzetközi tudományos közösség előtt. Ez nagyban segíti a szakmai kapcsolatok kialakítását, amely később nemzetközi együttműködések alapjául szolgálhat. Szintén fontos az témával kapcsolatos azonnali visszajelzés, a szakmai diskurzus, amely további kutatási ötleteket illetve megoldásokat adhat. Jelentős költségük miatt a nemzetközi szakmai konferenciákon való részvétel külön pályázati forrás nélkül csak ritkán lehetséges a fiatal kutatók számára, ezért jelent kiváló lehetőséget a jelen pályázat. Célom, hogy természetvédelmi témájú kutatásaimat bemutassam a 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology és a 17th Eurasian Grassland Conference, amelyek Európa legnagyobb és legnívósabb természetvédelmi konferenciái. Ezek a rendezvények nem csak a kutatókat célozzák, hanem természetvédelmi problémákkal foglalkozó összes szereplőt, így a döntéshozók és gyakorlati szakemberek számára is lehetőséget biztosítanak az aktuális problémák és legújabb kutatási eredmények megvitatására, így várhatóan kutatási eredményeim is szélesebb szakmai közönséget is elérnek. Kutatásaim modell faja a szalakóta, egy veszélyeztetett, közösségi jelentőségi madárfaj, amely jól reprezentálja a gyepekhez és mezőgazdasági területekhez kötődő vonuló madárfajok természetvédelmi problémáit.

Presentation of the international scientific/innovation event to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career. The goal of application is to present my research about a long-distance migratory bird species on the 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology (ECCB) and on the 17th Eurasian Grassland Conference. These events are among the largest and the most significant conservation biology conferences which provide an excellent opportunity to share the most recent findings among researchers and conservation specialists. Both of these conference series have been organized before in several European countries with a great number of participants and great interest. The organizers, the Czech University of Life Sciences, the European section of Society of Conservation Biology, European Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) and the University of the Basque Country guarantee the professional quality of current conferences .
Presenting my findings on an international conference with a high professional level helps to draw attention to my scientific publications. Moreover, a conference is an ideal place to find new professional contacts and this may provide great basis for later cooperation among researchers and also universities. For an early career researcher it is always a challenge to attend international conferences, as these events are usually very expensive. Therefore, winning Mecenatúra grant would provide an exceptional opportunities for me.
Summary and aims of the project for a general audience Provide a short, general introduction to the international event to be visited, the purpose of the participation, and its expected results. It is very important for early career researchers to introduce their works to the international scientific community. This helps to establish new professional relationships that may provide bases for future cooperation. Moreover, direct feedback and discussion helps to find new research ideas and solutions. International scientific conferences are expensive; therefore it is difficult for young researchers to participate. The aim of my application for Mecenatúra grant is to participate 6thEuropean Congress of Conservation Biology (ECCB) and 17th Eurasian Grassland Conference and in order to present my research about the conservation problem of a long-distance migratory bird species during the full annual life cycle. Both conferences are among the largest and the most significant conservation biology conferences in Europe and they have been successfully organized in serval countries before with a great number of participants. These conferences are attended by not only researchers, but also policy makers and conservation professionals, which will ensure the effective dissemination of my findings. The model species of my research is the European roller, a species of community interest which represents a conservation problems of the migratory birds of farmlands and grasslands.

A Tudományos Mecenatúra pályázat segítségével két nemzetközi konferencián vettem részt 2022-ben jelenléti formában. A bemutatott kutatási témám teljes éves életciklust érintő természetvédelmi kihívások bemutatása volt egy hosszú távú vonuló madárfaj, a szalakóta esetében. A Prágában megrendezett 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology konferencián egy szimpózium keretében előadás formájában mutattattam be eredményeimet. Előadásom első felében a faj költési időszakon belüli területhasználatát ismertettem, ezt követőben pedig a vonulás és a telelési időszak alatti mozgásokat részleteztem. A második konferencia, amelyen részt vettem, a spanyolországi Tolosában megrendezett 17th Eurasian Grassland Conference volt. Ezen a konferencián a poszter formájában mutattam be eredményeimet. Ebben az esetben gyepekre vonatkozó eredményeit emeltem ki. A szalakóta a gyepekhez és az extenzív mezőgazdasági területekhez kötő faj, amely a teljes ciklus lefedő védelméhez fontos a természetes gyepek védelme a költőterületeken, valamint a vonulás, telelés során is. Mindkét konferencia kiváló lehetőséget biztosított a szakmai diskurzusra, az eredmények megvitatására, további kutatási irányok és lehetséges kooperációk kialakítására.

I participated in two international conferences in 2022 thanks to the „Tudományos Mecenatúra pályázat”. My research topic was revealing threats through the full annual cycle in a long-distance migratory bird species, the European roller. The first conference I participated was the 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology, in Prague. I gave a talk on the “Animal migration to the northern latitude: environmental changes and increasing threats” symposium. Firstly, I presented my results about habitat use and home-range during the breeding season, and during the second part of my presentation I talked about the migration pathways and stopover sites during the non-breeding season. The second conference, the 17th Eurasian Grassland Conference, was in Tolosa, Spain where I presented a poster. I highlighted my results which are connected to grasslands. The European roller is a typical bird species of grasslands and extensive farmlands; therefore, the preservation of these habitats is essential for the conservation of this species. Both conferences provided excellent opportunities for discussing the results, future projects and cooperation.
