A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos/innovációs rendezvény bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében. Az Európai Fordítástudományi Társaság (European Society for Translation Studies, EST) háromévente megrendezett kongresszusa a fordítás és tolmácsoláskutatás legelismertebb, közel 400 fős nemzetközi tudományos fóruma. A világ minden tájáról érkező kiváló kutatók, tudósok a nyelvi közvetítés aktuális problémáit vitatják meg, új kutatásaikat mutatják be. Plenáris előadások, panel beszélgetések a fordítás- és tolmácsolástudomány elméleti és gyakorlati kérdéseit vetik fel, emellett poszterkiállítás és a tudományterület kiadóinak kiállítása szerepel a programban. A X. EST Kongresszuson előadás megtartásával szeretnék részt venni, melyben a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem Irodalomtudományi Doktori Iskolájában folyamatban lévő empirikus kutatásom eredményeit kívánom bemutatni. Doktori disszertációmban a rendszerváltás hatását vizsgálom a magyar kulturális térben az angol és francia nyelvű kanadai irodalom fordításának mintáján.
2021. február 1-től határozott, egy évre szóló teljes állású munkaszerződést kötöttem a PPKE, BTK Angol-Amerikai Intézetével. Az intézetben való további munkalehetőségem részben a tudományos tevékenységemen múlik, melynek elismert, magas rangú fóruma lehet a fordítástudományi kongresszus. 2019-ben egyedül képviseltem Magyarországot ezen a rendezvényen, ahol előadásom mellett nemzetközi kollégákkal együtt egy panelt társ-vezettem. A panel munkájának eredménye a Translation Spaces nemzetközi fordítástudományi folyóirat (SJR indikátor: Q1) 2021. X/1. tematikus különszáma, melynek egyik szerkesztője voltam. A Kongresszuson való folyamatos tudományos munkám az egyik legmeghatározóbb forrása jelenlegi kutatásomnak, melyet az oktatás során is felhasználok. Szeretném a meglévő nemzetközi kapcsolatokat a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem számára továbbra is erősíteni.

Részvételem a nemzetközi eseményen várhatóan további tudományos kapcsolatokat generál, feltehetően a Trieszti Egyetemmel, a Leuveni Egyetemmel és a Tartui Egyetemmel.

Presentation of the international scientific/innovation event to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career. The congress of the European Society for Translation Studies, EST - organized every three years with the participation of almost 400 researchers - is the most recognized international scientific forum in the field of translation and interpreting. Excellent researchers and professors attend this event from all over the world to discuss the current issues of interlingual transfer and present their new research. Keynote lectures, panel discussions shed light upon relevant theoretical and applied aspects of Translation and Interpreting Studies. The congress hosts a poster exhibition as well as invites the publishers of the field to present their recent publications. I would like to participate in the 10th EST Congress with a paper and present the results of my current empirical research I conduct at the Doctoral School of Literary Studies, Pázmány Péter Catholic University. My Ph.D. research focuses on the impact of the 1989 political change on the Hungarian cultural field as seen in the case of Anglophone and Francophone Canadian literature translated into Hungarian.
From February 1, 2021, I entered into a full-time, fixed-term, one-year contract with Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Institute of English and American Studies. The renewal of my current contract at the Institute depends partly on my scientific work which would benefit from a presentation possibility at a high-level scientific forum of Translation Studies. In 2019, I was the only Hungarian scholar at this event, where I gave a presentation and was also a panel co-convener. The outcome of the panel’s work was a special issue of an international TS journal (Q1 SJR indicator) that I co-edited with colleagues. The continuous contribution to the work of the EST congress is one of the most important sources of my current research which I can also apply in teaching. I would like to further strengthen the international scientific relations I have to benefit Pázmány Péter Catholic University.

My work presents comparable results to those international parallel inquiries that do not account for the impact of Socialist translation policy. My participation at the international event is likely to generate further scientific contacts with the University of Trieste, KU Leuven, and the University of Tartu.

1. Részvétel "A fordítás történetében megjelenő globális fordítási zónák és perifériák" c. műhelymunkán Diana Roig Sanz, kutató, professzor vezetésével (30 fő).
2. Részvétel a kongresszus tematikus paneljein és három plenáris előadásán. Hanne Skaaden a nyelvi közvetítést szabályozó norvég törvényről, Michael Cronin a fordítás és ökológia kapcsolatáról, Jemina Napier a jeltolmácsolás-kutatás módszertani kihívásairól tartott előadást.
3. Egyeztetés Maura Radicioni szerkesztővel folyamatban lévő publikációmról, mely 2022 őszén a Leuveni Egyetem Kiadójának következő kötetében jelenik meg.
4. Erasmus partnerség felvetése az Angol-Amerikai Intézet, Fordító-Tolmács MA programja és a Trieszti Egyetem Fordítás- és Tolmácsolástudományi Tanszéke között.
5. Nemzetközi konferencia témájának és lehetséges paneljeinek felvetése „Sport és fordítás” címmel a PPKE, Leuveni Katolikus Egyetem, és a Tartui Egyetem felé.
6. A Közép-Európai Kanadisztikai Társaság (CEACS) nyolc országában gyűjtött fordítási bibliográfiai adatainak felajánlása a Cseh Tudományos Akadémia fordítási kutatásaira (a CEACS elnökének engedélyével). A fordítási adatbázis országai: Magyarország, Csehország, Szlovákia, Szlovénia, Románia, Szerbia, Horvátország, Bulgária.
7. A kongresszus új elméleti és gyakorlati ismereteket nyújtott, melyeket 2022 őszén a Fordító és tolmács MA programban általam oktatott tantárgyakban alkalmazok.

1. Participation in the "Global Translation Zones and Peripheries in the History of Translation" workshop led by Diana Roig Sanz researcher, professor. (30 participants)
2. Attending the thematic panels and three keynote lectures of the congress. Hanne Skaaden presented the Norwegian legal frame of regulating interpreting services, Michael Cronin drew attention to the connection between translation and ecology, Jemina Napier spoke about the methodological issues in sign language interpreting research.
3. I discussed my forthcoming paper at Leuven University Press in the fall of 2022 with Maura Radicioni editor.
4. Suggested an Erasmus partnership between PPCU, Institute of English and American Studies, MA in Translation and Interpreting and University of Trieste, Dep. of Legal, Language, Interpreting and Translation Studies.
5. Suggested cooperation for an international conference entitled "Sport and Translation” for PPCU, KU Leuven and the University of Tartu.
6. Offered the translation database of the Central European Association for Canadian Studies (CEACS) containing the translation bibliography of eight countries to the Czech Academy of Sciences for further research (with the permission of the president of CEACS). Participating countries: Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria.
7. The congress provided new knowledge in the fields of theory and practice that I can use in the MA level classes that I teach in the fall of 2022.
