Summary in Hungarian
A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos/innovációs rendezvény bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése
Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében.

A CERN-ben működő AWAKE kollaboráció azon dolgozik, hogy létrehozza világ első olyan plazmahullám alapú elektrongyorsítóját amely a plazmahullámot nagyenergiájú protonnyaláb segítségével gerjeszti. Az együttműködés jelenleg közel 30 intézet részvételével folyik, tagja a Wigner Fizikai Kutatóközpont is. Az együttműködés kutatói rendszeresen összegyűlnek a félévente megrendezett Collaboration Meetingen. Itt előadásokban ismertetik egymással a különböző csoportok az utolsó időszakban végzett munkájukat és megvitatják a további ötleteket, terveket, közeljövőben esedékes feladatokat. A Wigner Fizikai Kutatóközpont AWAKE csoportjának vezetőjeként be kell mutatnom az egész magyar csoport munkáját, a vállalások teljesítését, illetve csoportvezetőként részt kell vennem az irányító testület esedékes megbeszélésén.

A projekt összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára

Summary
Presentation of the international scientific/innovation event to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation
Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career.

The AWAKE Collaboration at CERN is working to build the world’s first plasma wakefield electron accelerator where the wakefields are being driven by a high energy proton beam. The Collaboration has almost 30 member institutes, among them the Wigner Research Centre for Physics. The scientists of the Collaboration gather regularly at Collaboration Meetings organized twice a year where the member groups present their latest results and discuss further plans, ideas, tasks for the future. As leader of the Wigner AWAKE group I have the task of presenting the work of the entire Hungarian AWAKE community, the execution of our tasks, and I have to participate in the discussion of the Collaboration Board.

Summary and aims of the project for a general audience
Provide a short, general introduction to the international event to be visited, the purpose of the participation, and its expected results.

CERN is not only the leading European center for particle physics research, it is also a center for scientific and technological innovation where numerous novel technologies for the future are born. The AWAKE Collaboration at CERN, which the Hungarian Wigner Research Center for Physics is a member of, is working to build a novel, compact particle accelerator. Members of the Collaboration gather every six months to inform each other of the latest results, developments and discuss the newest ideas, plans, tasks. Each active member of the Collaboration should take part in the event to present their work before the community of the program and discuss the tasks of the coming months.

Final report

Results in Hungarian
A Cern-ben működő AWAKE kollaboráció a világ első protonnyaláb által gerjesztett plazmahullám alapú elektrongyorsítójának létrehozásán dolgozik. Kutatócsoportunk tagja ennek a közel 30 intézmény részvételével működő együttműködésnek. Ennek keretein belül vizsgáljuk nagyintenzitású lézerimpulzus terjedését rubídiumgőzben, illetve a segítségével létrehozott hosszú plazmacsatorna tulajdonságait. Legújabb eredményeinket bemutattuk azon a konferencián, amelyik a nagyintenzitású lézerimpulzusok terjedésével, nemlineáris optikai jelenségeivel foglalkozó közösség első számú fóruma. Bemutattuk továbbá eredményeinket a kollaboráció féléves gyűlésén és részt vettünk a következő időszak feladatainak megvitatásában.
Results in English
The AWAKE Collaboration at CERN is working to realize the world's first proton-beam driven plasma wakefield accelerator for electrons. There are close to 30 institutional members of this Collaboration, our group is one of them. We investigate the propagation of high-power laser pulses in rubidium vapor and the properties of the long plasma channel created by them. We presented our latest results at the conference which is the most important forum for the community studying the propagation of high-power laser pulses and the associated nonlinear-optical phenomena. We also presented our results at the last Collaboration Meeting and took part in discussing the future tasks of the joint work.
