Final report

Results in Hungarian
Ezek nyomait, maradványait kutattuk a Délkeleti-Bükkben, Répáshuta K,DK-i szomszédságában. Úgy tűnik tehát, hogy a Délkeleti-Bükk K,DK-i szomszédságának jelenlegi felszínformái alapvetően koraeocén-koramiocén kori forró, nedves (trópusi) kúpkarsztvidékre vezethetők vissza.
Results in English
Based on our geologic knowledge, the majority of the area of Bükk-mountain has been dry land since the early Eocene. The surface limestone has gone through its karst development first under a hot, humid, tropical climate and later under a subtropical, warm and temporal climate. Thus, the conditions of the tropical karst formation have been given. Examples of these cone-shaped karst features have been surveyed in the South-Eastern Bükk, near Répáshuta. The radiolarit from the early Miocene and the redclay with mixed shale materials from the Felsőnyárád formation, can be found mainly between the middle and late Triassic limestone ridges and plateaus. The base diagonal of these elevated areas, their density, and the valley system formed in between them are quite similar to those of the cone-karst features of the Kousou district in Southern China. It was concluded, that the surface geomorphology of the karst features of the South-eastern Bükk can be deduced to the tropical karst formation in the periods of early Eocene and Miocene.
