Summary in Hungarian
A pályázat a növényvédelmi szakterület 2 nemzetközi hírű folyóiratában – Phytopathology, PH és Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology, CJPP – elfogadott 3 járványbiológiai cikk publikációs költségeit kívánja fedezni.
Az egyik PH cikk a Monilinia fructigena gombabetegség nyári biológiai ciklusának ’hiányzó láncszemét’ – a nyári fertőzőforrást – tárja fel. Egyúttal a fertőzőforrás elleni környezetkímélő védekezés módját és egy korábbinál precízebb prognosztikai fejlesztést mutat be, hozzájárulva egy új környezetkímélő gyümölcsvédelmi elem létrejöttéhez.
A másik PH cikk a M. fructigena fertőzését elősegítő sérülési tényezőket, fertőzési-sérülési típusok korrelációját számszerűsíti; és bizonyítja az eltérő védekezési rendszerek és eltérő érésidejű fajták különbségeit. A tanulmány igazolja a sérülési típusok elleni specifikus védekezés szükségességét és lehetőségeit, amely új stratégiai elem a környezetkímélő gyümölcsvédelemben.
A CJPP cikk a ventúriás varasodás (Venturia inaequalis) új gazda-parazita sajátosságait tárja fel. Az almafajták V. inaequalis fertőződése jelentős eltérést mutat integrált és bioorganikus termesztésben, mely funkcionális biológiai modellekből képzett járványtani adatokkal volt igazolható. A járványtani adatok beépíthetők a gyakorlatban használt prognosztikai modell-rendszerekbe.
Summary
This proposal is aimed to finance the publication costs of three papers on plant disease epidemiology accepted in two internationally acknowledged plant pathology journals i.e. Phytopathology (PH) and Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology (CJPP).
The first PH paper explores the ’missing chain’ i.e the summer inoculum source of the summer life cycle of Monilinia fructigena fungus. In addition, the paper shows the environmentally-friendly control options against this inoculum source and also demonstrates a more accurate prognostical innovation compared to earlier ones. These results contribute to a new element of environmentally-friendly fruit protection.
The second PH paper demonstrates the injury factors helping M. fructigena infection and the correlations of infection-injury types as well as justifies the difference of disease management systems and cultivar maturity time. The study verifies the specific control options against injury types which are new strategic elements of environmentally-friendly fruit protection.
The CJPP paper explores new host-pathogen features of Venturia inaequalis. Infection of apple cultivars caused by V. inaequalis is quite different in organic and integrated management systems, which was confirmed by disease variables derived from biological growth functions. The disease variables can be built into models of disease warning systems. The major importance of the study is that although there is a host model (HM) in the current disease warning systems, earlier HM does not contain disease management dependent host features because these features were not explored before and no model existed to incorporate then into previous HM.
