Summary in Hungarian
A pályázat célja: 2011. december 31-ig elkészíteni Berzsenyi Dániel költeményei és levelezése kritikai kiadásának lektorálható kéziratát. A levelezést a pályázat vezető kutatójaként Fórizs Gergely, a költeményeket pedig Vaderna Gábor rendezi sajtó alá.
A kritikai kiadás leveleket tartalmazó kötete először nyújt majd átfogó képet Berzsenyi Dániel levelezéséről, s számos, eddig ismeretlen vagy nehezen hozzáférhető levélszöveget fog tartalmazni. Berzsenyi Dániel költeményeinek tervezett kritikai kiadása megteremti annak lehetőségét, hogy az egyik legjelentősebb magyar költő versei pontos eredeti szöveggel és a Berzsenyi-filológia legújabb eredményeit tükröző, további kutatásokra ösztönző jegyzetanyaggal kerüljenek a szakmai és a szélesebb olvasóközönség elé.
A pályázat megvalósulásával (figyelembe véve a prózai művek már 2008-ban elkészülő, Fórizs Gergely szerkesztette kiadását is) 2011-re teljessé válik Berzsenyi Dániel összes műveinek új, modern szellemű kritikai kiadása.
Summary
Our purpose is to accomplish two volumes of Dániel Berzsenyi’s critical edition, the ones concerning his poetry and correspondance, by the 31th december 2011. The latter will be redacted by the leading researcher of the project, Gergely Fórizs, the former by Gábor Vaderna. The volume containing the correspondance will give, for the first time, a possibly full account, including several yet unknown or unaccessable letters. The critical edition of Berzsenyi’s poetry will provide the opportunity for both researchers and the wider public to study the work of one of the most significant Hungarian poets through the original texts with notes reflecting the latest research and stimulating further investigations. Accomplishing the project (and with the forthcoming edition of his theoretical works by Gergely Fórizs in 2008) means that by 2011 the complete works of Berzsenyi’s will be available in a new, modern critical edition.

Final report

Results in Hungarian
Berzsenyi Dániel levelezésének és költeményeinek szövegét egyaránt digitalizáltuk és elkészítettük a két kötet magyarázó jegyzeteit is. A kutatás legfontosabb újdonsága, hogy a pannonhalmi Főapátsági Könyvtárban három olyan Berzsenyi-verskéziratot találtunk, melyek eddig ismeretlen szövegvariánsokat tartalmaznak. Ezek egyben Berzsenyi jelenleg ismert legkorábbi versei. Publikálatlan levelek is előkerültek, főleg a Magyar Országos Levéltárban őrzött Festetics-hagyatékból. 2011-ben Fórizs Gergely szerkesztésében megjelent a Prózai munkák című kötet, s amennyiben meglesznek hozzá az anyagi feltételek, akkor 2013-ra teljessé válhat az életmű új kritikai kiadása.
Results in English
Both the correspondence of and the poems by Dániel Berzsenyi have been digitalized, and the annotations to both volumes have also been completed. The most significant novelty of our research is that in the archives of the Pannonhalma Archabbey we discovered the manuscripts of three Berzsenyi poems that contain previously unknown variants. These are Berzsenyi’s earliest poems yet known. We have also found letters yet unpublished, foremost in the Festetics-heritage preserved at the Hungarian National Archives. In 2011 the volume entitled Prózai munkák, edited by Gergely Fórizs, was published, and if we manage to raise funds then the critical edition of Berzsenyi’s oeuvre shall be complete by 2013.
