Summary in Hungarian
A törökországi bektasik népi iszlámnak nevezhető vallása eltér a Törökországban többségi szunnita vallástól.
Summary
The folk religion of the Bektashis in Turkey is different from the majority Sunni religion. This religion borrowed from the Jewish and Christian religion and even from Buddhism and Manichaeism as well.
We have been doing field work among Bektashis since 1998, have been joining to their ceremonies and made several interviews too. The recorded 1200 melodies served as a good base to the preparation of this monograph on their psalms and folk songs.
The book begins with a survey on the earlier Hungarian researches among Turkic people and then we give an account of our field works among the the Bektashi order. In the chapter about the mysticism we compare the abstract principles of the Bektashism to the actual behaviour and way of thinking of the member of the community.
One novelty of the book is the comparative musical analysis. We gave a musical classification and examine the relation of the Bektashi melodies to Anatolian, Bulgarian and Hungarian melodies. An important part of the publication is the 600 musical transcriptions never published before, and a CD with the most characteristic melodies.
We publish the text of the psalms and the folk songs, and also an explanation to them and their English translation. The understanding of the religious poems and the special concepts are facilitated by an explanatory dictionary. The indeces contain detailed information on the melodies and the informants, and we prepared a general index as well.
Our book will be useful not only for ethnomusicologists but for Turkologs, linguists and generally for those interested in Islamic religions.

A pályázatban vállalt feladat teljesült, és a „The Psalms and Folk Songs of a Mystic Turkish Order” kötet a szerződés munkatervében foglaltaknak megfelelően megjelent. Az OTKA támogatás ténye, száma szerepel a könyvön, azonban az Akadémiai Kiadó elfelejtette rátenni az OTKA logót. A mű adatai: János Sipos and Éva Csáki, The Psalms and Folk Songs of a Mystic Turkish Order, Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, 2009, 665 o. + CD melléklet A könyvünk témája a Törökország európai részén élő bektásik misztikus iszlám közösség népi és vallásos dalai. A török misztikus vallási közösségek zenéjét ezelőtt igen kevesen kutatták. A kötet fő újdonsága egy tanulmány a szúfi közösség zenéjéről E mellett sok száz bektásik költeményt is közlünk, angol fordításukkal együtt.

The book was published according to the terms of the backing. The only difference is that the Akadémiai Publishing House forgot to put the OTKA logo on it. The book is: János Sipos and Éva Csáki, The Psalms and Folk Songs of a Mystic Turkish Order, Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, 2009, 665 o. + CD The subject-matter of our book is the psalms and folk songs of an Islamic mystic community, the Bektashis living in the European part of Turkey. Most of the music of these religious communities has been unresearched so far. During our fieldwork between 1999 and 2003 we videotaped the overwhelming majority of the religious hymns and also several of the folk song sin 24 Thracian villages from 150 Bektashi.men and women. After a brief introduction to Sufi idea sin the book thoughts are cited from a writing attributed to Haji Bektash Veli and a book by Kaygusuz Abdal dervish. These will bring the Reader closer to mystic Islamic thinking and the texts of the religious hymns. The main novelty of the book is study devoted to the systematic presentation of the music of a Sufi community. Also hundreds of folk song texts and the poems sung by Bektashi poets are given together with their English translation. All these are completed by several photos, many transcriptions and a CD-supplement with the most typical tunes of the Bektashi community
