A kutatás az algák cianobaktériumok tömeges megjelenéseivel és azok toxintermelésével foglalkozott. Főbb eredmények: -Prymnesium parvum toxintermelési stratégiájának leírása. Toxinjainak szerepe a mixotróf anyagcserében. - Planktothrix és Microcystis fajok toxintermelésének vizsgálata természetes közösségekben. Peptid típusú toxinok megjelenési sajátosságainak ismertetése. -A Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii invazív faj európai kemotípusának jellemzése, neurotoxikus populáció leírása. -A toxintermelés tápanyagfüggésének vizsgálata nitrogénéhezés körülményei között. -Az algatoxinok növényi hatásainak ismertetése valós és in vitro körülmények között.
Results in English
The present research project focused on the occurrences and importance of mass production of toxic algae and cyanobacteria. The main results are as follows: -Toxin production and killing strategy of Prymnesium parvum and its role in mixotrophic physiology. -Toxicity of bloom forming Planktothrix and Microcystis chemotypes. Description of peptide-toxins from water. -Identification of neurotoxic Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii chemotypes and its cyanobacterial blooms from Central Europe. - Alteration of cylindrospermopsin content of Aphanizomenon ovalisporum due to step-down from combined nitrogen to dinitrogen. -Investigation of the effects on plant species in vitro and in vivo.
