Summary
My research contains analyses of stock exchange in Hungary, and its real impacts on the economy in the period 1864 – 2005. I intend to accept or reject the hypothesis: the secondary market of securities in Hungary had a major economic role and indirect impact on the economic growth in the given period. I focus on the circumstances and the conditions, which determine the importance of stock exchange, and the reasons for its success and its failure. In addition to formulating the Hungarian experience and lessons for the future, my goal is to provide a valuable contribution to theories of financial markets with qualitative and quantitative analyses, and to complete them with institutional and historical studies. Results of my research will be summarized in a monograph.
