A nyugat-mongol ojrát népcsoport saját írásbeliségének emlékeit, az MTA könyvtárának Keleti Gyűjteményében őrzött ojrát írásos kéziratok feldolgozását célzó kutatási projekt a szövegek tartalmi és nyelvi elemzésére irányult. A projekt eredményeként elkészült a szövegek latin betűs átírását tartalmazó digitális korpusz, melynek alapján a szövegek műfajától és jellegétől függően több szempontú (vallási, népi hitvilági, népköltészeti, stb.) elemzések készültek, valamint az ojrát irodalmi nyelv jellegzetességeit, történeti változásait és a formálásában részt vevő hatásokat vizsgáltuk, s lehetőség nyílik további korpusznyelvészeti elemzésre is. A kutatás forrásanyaga publikálásra került nyomtatott (nemzetközi együttműködésben készült sorozat részeként) és digitális formában is, a kutatás részeredményei elhangzottak számos konferencián, publikálásra kerültek cikkekben és könyvfejezetekben, s folyamatban van az eredményeket közlő további publikációk, köztük két monográfia (egy műfaji és egy nyelvi elemzés) megjelentetése is. A szövegalapú feldolgozás hagyományos és innovatív módszertani megközelítései mintául szolgálhatnak más diszciplínák kutatói számára is.

The present project deals with the literary tradition of the Western Mongol Oirat ethnic group, and its main goal is the linguistic and philological analysis of the Oirat manuscripts kept in the Oriental Collection of the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. During the implementation of the project, a digital text corpus was created containing the academic transcription of the Oirat texts. This corpus formed the basis of extensive studies covering the multi-aspect analysis of the source texts depending on their genre and characteristics (religion, folk religion, folklore, etc.). Another part of the research was the study of the Oirat literary language (Written Oirat), including its characteristic features, historical development, and factors influencing its evolution. The digital corpus can also serve as a source for further corpus linguistic analyses. The source material of the research has been published in printed form (within the framework of international cooperation) and also in digital format. The research results have been presented at many conferences, and published in articles and book chapters, and the publication of further results is also in progress, including two monographs (a genre & context analysis, and a linguistic study). The traditional and innovative approaches of the present text-based analysis can serve as a model for researchers in other fields.
