A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos/innovációs rendezvény bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében. A pályamunka középpontjában két nemzetközi tudományos konferencián való részvétel áll. A Microclimate Ecology & Biogeography (MEB2022) egy szakterület-specifikus kezdeményezés, a tudományterület jelenleg legelismertebb és legnagyobb tudományos elismertségnek örvendő kutatóinak szervezésében és/vagy részvételével. A szervezők közül Pieter de Frenne ERC-STG nyertes, az erdei mikroklíma-kutatás legerősebb európai műhelyét vezeti, míg Jonas Lembrechts pedig a globális SoilTemp hálózat kezdeményezője és fő koordinátora. A rendezvény során nem csak előadások, hanem tematikus workshopok is megrendezésre kerülnek. A MEB-en előadással szeretnék részt venni, amely a Pilis Lék Kísérlet NKFIH pályázatunk keretében végzett mikroklíma-vizsgálatok eredményeit mutatja be. A várhatóan nagyon fókuszált és kis létszámú konferencia teljesen egybevág az érdeklődési területemmel és 2013 óta folytatott tevékenységemmel. A szakterület legeredményesebb kutatóitól nyílna lehetőségem tanulni. Ezen kívül a SoilTemp közösség – amelyben adatszolgáltató, valamint a formálódó minőségellenőrzési munkacsoport tagja vagyok – nagyarányú részvétele várható, ami rendkívül nagy kapcsolati potenciált jelent. A 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology a több mint 5000 tagot számláló nemzetközi konzervációbiológiai társaság, a Society for Conservation Biology európai regionális szekciójának csúcsrendezvénye előadásokkal, workshopokkal és tréningekkel. A prágai konferencián egy előadással és egy poszterrel kívánok részt venni. A bemutatandó saját, lékes eredmények mellett a rendezvény jó alkalmat szolgáltatna arra, hogy (1) a már meglévő cseh együttműködésem résztvevőivel (Silva Tarouca Research Institute) személyesen átbeszéljük a projekt jelenlegi állását, az eddigi eredményeket és a további feladatokat, (2) a szervező egyetem GIS kutatócsoportjával kiépítsünk egy esetleges kollaborációt (erdőgazdálkodás-erdei mikroklíma témában), valamint (3) részt vegyek korszerű technikákat bemutató kurzus(ok)on.
A projekt összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Adjon egy rövid, közérthető ismertetést a látogatni tervezett nemzetközi rendezvényről, illetve a részvétel céljáról, várható eredményeiről. A pályamunka középpontjában két nemzetközi tudományos konferencián való részvétel áll. A „Microclimate Ecology & Biogeography” (MEB2022) egy szűk, szakterület-specifikus kezdeményezés, a tudományterület jelenleg legelismertebb és legnagyobb tudományos elismertségnek örvendő kutatóinak szervezésében és/vagy részvételével. A rendezvény során nem csak előadások, hanem tematikus workshopok is megrendezésre kerülnek. A rendezvényen előadással szeretnék részt venni, amely terepi kísérletünk, a Pilis Lék Kísérlet mikroklíma-vizsgálatainak eredményeit tárná a szakmai közönség elé. A várhatóan nagyon fókuszált és kis létszámú konferencia teljesen egybevág az érdeklődési területemmel és 2013 óta folytatott tevékenységemmel – ami nagyon ritka lehetőség egy pályakezdő kutató számára. A szakterület legeredményesebb kutatóitól nyílna lehetőségem tanulni és ezen kívül az eseményen, a 60 országban gyűjtött 12000 adatsort kezelő, nemzetközi SoilTemp közösség – amelyben adatszolgáltató, valamint a formálódó minőségellenőrzési munkacsoport tagja vagyok – nagyarányú részvétele várható, ami rendkívül nagy kapcsolati potenciált jelent. Ezzel szemben a 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology a több mint 5000 tagot számláló nemzetközi konzervációbiológiai társaság, a Society for Conservation Biology európai regionális szekciójának csúcsrendezvénye előadásokkal, bemutatókkal és tréningekkel. A prágai konferencián egy előadás és egy poszter formájában szeretném bemutatni kísérletünk első eredményeit. A rendezvény jó alkalmat szolgáltatna arra, hogy (1) a már meglévő cseh együttműködésem résztvevőivel személyesen átbeszéljük, hogy hol tart pillanatnyilag a közös munka, mik a következő teendők; (2) a szervező egyetem egyik kutatócsoportjával kiépítsünk egy esetleges együttműködést, valamint (3) részt vegyek korszerű technikákat bemutató kurzus(ok)on.

Presentation of the international scientific/innovation event to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career. The proposed application aims at the attendance of two international conferences. The Microclimate Ecology & Biogeography (MEB2022) conference will be a very specific and focused forum with the participation of the most prominent researchers and groups in the fields of microclimate ecology and spatial distribution modelling. The conference is organised by among others the ERC-STG winner Pieter De Frenne, the leader of the most thriving research lab on this topic in Europe. Besides presentations, it is planned that workshops and hands-on trainings on state-of-the-art techniques in microclimate monitoring and modelling will be organized. I am planning to attend this conference with an oral presentation presenting the first result of our ongoing Pilis Gap Experiment. The scope of this conference completely overlaps with my focal interests and the research that I started in 2013. MEB2022 would allow me to learn from the most successful researchers in this field. Moreover, a high share of the worldwide initiative, SoilTemp members among the participants is expected which means a high networking potential. I am also involved in this project as a data custodian and member of the QC working group. The 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology is the paramount event organized by the regional section of the Society for Conservation Biology and the conference in Europe on conservation biology. The still-forming programme contains plenaries, several parallel sections of presentations, workshops, trainings and symposia. I would like to give a talk and a poster presentation related to our experiment. Besides the presentation, it would be a good opportunity to (1) meet in person with my Checz colleagues (Silva Tarouca Research Institute) and discuss the next tasks of our ongoing project; (2) to meet with the members of the hosting university’s GIS Lab with common interests for future collaborations; (3) participate in training courses focusing on cutting the edge techniques.

A projekt révén részt vehettem két eltérő karakterű konferencián, a VI. Európai Konzervációbiológiai Konferencián (Prága, 2022.08.22-08.26.) és az első Mikroklíma ökológia & Biogeográfia konferencián (Antwerpen, 2022.08.29-09.01). Két 15 perces előadás formájában előadhattam a két OTKA projektünk (K111887, K128441) révén kialakított kísérletek mikroklíma-moduljainak legfontosabb eredményeit. Prágában „Effects of different forest management on microclimate: field experiments in oak-hornbeam forest stands” címmel mutattam be kísérleteink legfontosabb mikroklíma-eredményeit, míg Antwerpenben a 2018-ban indult Pilis Lék Kísérletet és első eredményeit ismertetettem részletesen a mikroklíma ökológiával foglalkozó kutatókkal „The combined effects of gap size and gap shape on microclimate and its spatial pattern: first results from a Central European forest ecological experiment” címmel. Az előadások mellett részt vettem rendkívül hasznos és feladatorientált szakmai továbbképzéseken is. A személyes kapcsolatok építése mellett mindkét konferencia esetében kilátásba kerültek kéziratok, illetve lehetséges kollaborációk, továbbá lehetőségem nyílt csatlakozni egy már futó európai projekthez és részt venni egy BIODIVERSA pályázat írásában. Mindkét konferencia jelentős pozitív hatást gyakorolt a jövőbeli karrieremre.

Through the project, I participated in two different conferences, at the 6th European Congress of Conservation Biology (Prague, 22.08.2022-26.08.2022) and the first Microclimate Ecology & Biogeography conference (Antwerp, 29.08.2022-01.09.2022). By holding two 15-minute presentations, I could present the most important results of the microclimate modules of the experiments developed through our two OTKA projects (K111887, K128441). In Prague, with my talk “Effects of different forest management on microclimate: field experiments in oak-hornbeam forest stands” I could summarize the most important findings on microclimate responses of both of our two experiments, while in Antwerp I focused on the design and first results of the Pilis Gap Experiment established in 2018 with a more specific and detailed presentation titled „The combined effects of gap size and gap shape on microclimate and its spatial pattern: first results from a Central European forest ecological experiment”. In addition to these talks, I also participated in very specialized and focused workshops. In addition to building my own scientific network, we planned manuscripts and possible collaborations at both conferences, and I also had the opportunity to join an already-running European project and participate in the writing of a BIODIVERSA application. Both conferences had a significant positive impact on my future career.
