A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos/innovációs rendezvény bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében. Mindkét szakmai rendezvény a fordítástudomány interdiszciplináris természetét hangsúlyozó nemzetközi konferencia, amelyre a világ minden részéről érkeznek kutatók. A jelentkező előadókat mindkét esetben vaklektorálással, tudományos szempontok alapján értékelik és választják ki. A “Meaning in Translation: Illusion of Precision” Rigában kerül megrendezésre Marina Platonova (Riga Technical University) és egy hat fős helyi szervezőbizottság jóvoltából. A konferencia legfőbb szakmai célja a fordítástudomány legújabb kutatási eredményeinek bemutatása a digitális bölcsészet keretein belül. Részvételem célja egy tudományos előadás tartása, amely az audiovizuális fordítás kultúramegőrző és -közvetítő szerepét vizsgálja William Shakespeare Ahogy tetszik című művének magyar fordításai során. Egy erről a témáról szóló tanulmányom magyar nyelven már elérhető a 2021-ben megjelent a Klasszikus művek újrafordítás című kötetben, így a rigai konferencián való részvétel lehetővé tenné a kutatási eredményeknek egy nemzetközi szakmai közegben való bemutatását illetve várhatóan angol nyelven való publikálását is. Az Európai Fordítástudományi Társaság a legnagyobb nemzetközi fordítástudományi szervezet a világon, amelynek a 2022-es oslói kongresszusára egy 25 főből álló nemzetközi tudományos bizottság választja ki a résztvevőket. A helyi szervezőbizottság az Oslo Metropolitan University 22 oktatójából és kutatójából áll, vezetőjük Kristina Solum és Alvaro Llosa. A plenáris előadásokon és szakmai műhelyeken kívül 49 párhuzamos tematikus szekcióban zajlanak majd az egyéni előadások, amelyek a fordítástudomány klasszikus és legújabb interdiszciplináris irányzatait egyaránt lefedik. Az oslói konferencián tervezett előadásom egyrészt a jelenlegi interdiszciplináris, az irodalom- és fordítástudományt egyaránt érintő kutatási projektem bemutatását (a Shakespeare-adaptációk fordítása a magyar szinkrondramaturgiai hagyományban) másrészt a szakmai kapcsolatrendszerem bővítését teszi lehetővé.
A projekt összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Adjon egy rövid, közérthető ismertetést a látogatni tervezett nemzetközi rendezvényről, illetve a részvétel céljáról, várható eredményeiről. A projekt keretében két nemzetközi konferencián tervezek előadást tartani arról, hogy milyen szerepet tölt be a magyar szinkrondramaturgia William Shakespeare drámáinak fordítástörténete és a magyar kulturális és irodalmi köztudatban való folytonos jelenléte és megőrzése során. Magyarországon gyakran kerülnek ugyan megrendezése fordítói szakmai napok, de az ilyen rendezvények a fordítás gyakorlati tevékenységét mutatják be a fordítói munkaerőpiac jelenlegi magyar résztvevőinek jelenlétével, ahol az előadók is az ő érdeklődésüknek megfelelően kerülnek felkérésre. Az általam meglátogatni tervezett két konferencia viszont a fordításra tudományos szempontból tekint, és mindkettő a nemzetközi kutatások legújabb eredményeit teszi elérhetővé több tudományterületről is (pl. irodalom-, nyelv-, társadalom- és kultúratudomány) érkező kutatók jelenlétével. A rigai konferencián azért szeretnék részt venni, hogy egy magyar nyelven már megjelent, az Ahogy tetszik magyar filmfordításairól szóló tanulmányom kutatási eredményét meg tudjam osztani olyan külföldi kollégákkal, akik elősegíthetik annak angol nyelven való publikálását is, amely a szakmai előmenetelemhez szükséges. Az Európai Fordítástudományi Társaság a világ legnagyobb nemzetközi fordítástudományi szervezet e, amelynek 2013 óta vagyok tagja, de, sajnos, anyagi okokból azóta nem tudtam részt venni egy általuk szervezett kongresszusokon sem. Az általuk szervezett oslói kongresszuson való részvételem célja egyrészt a szakmai kapcsolatrendszerem bővítése, másrészt a Shakespeare-drámák és a magyar szinkrondramaturgiai gyakorlatról szóló kutatásom eddigi eredményeinek minél szélesebb kutatói körben való megismertetése a külföldi kollégákkal való közös, jövőbeli projektek elindítása érdekében.

Presentation of the international scientific/innovation event to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career. Both academic events are international conferences that focus on the interdisciplinary nature of translation studies, and welcome researchers from all over the world. Presentations at these events are invited only though a strict evaluation and blind review process based on academic criteria. "Meaning in Translation: Illusion of Precision" is organized in Riga by Marina Platonova (Riga Technical University) and a local organizing committee with six members. The main professional goal of the conference is to present the latest research results of translation studies within the framework of digital humanities. The aim of my participation is to give a presentation on the role of audiovisual translation in the cultural transfer of William Shakespeare's play As You Like It. I have already published a book chapter on this topic in Hungarian in the volume Klasszikus művek újrafordítása (Retranslation of the Classics) in 2021, but attending the conference in Riga would help me share my research results with the international academic community, which would hopefully also to lead to their publication in English. The European Society for Translation Studies is the largest international network of translation and interpreting scholars in the world, and the 25 members of its international academic committee will select the participants for the 2022 Oslo Congress. The local organizing committee, led by Kristina Solum and Alvaro Llosa, consists of 22 lecturers and researchers from Oslo Metropolitan University. In addition to plenary lectures and workshops, individual presentations will take place in 49 parallel thematic sections that cover both traditional and recent interdisciplinary trends in translation studies. I intend to present and disseminate the outcome of my current research project about the audiovisual translations of Shakespeare adaptations in Hungary, and to network with colleagues interested in similar projects.
Summary and aims of the project for a general audience Provide a short, general introduction to the international event to be visited, the purpose of the participation, and its expected results. I intend to give a presentation at two international conferences on the role of Hungarian dubbing practices in the translation history of Shakespearean drama and its presence and preservation in Hungarian cultural and literary heritage. Although professional events for the stakeholders of translation are often organized in Hungary, they focus only on the practice of translation among professionals in the current job market, and consequently they invite speakers who satisfy these types of interests. The two conferences I am planning to attend consider translation as the object of academic research and interest. These events provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the research outcome of most recent academic projects that often cover a wide range of disciplines including literature, linguistics, social sciences and cultural studies. I would like to attend the conference in Riga in order to share the results of my paper about the Hungarian film translations of As You Like It published in Hungarian in 2021, and to meet with colleagues who can help me publish these results in English, which is necessary for my career development. The European Society for Translation Studies is the largest international academic organization in the world, and I have been its member since 2013. Unfortunately, I have not been able to attend any congresses they have organized since then for financial reasons. I would like to attend their congress in Oslo in 2022 to network with colleagues and to disseminate the results of my research about Shakespearean drama and its Hungarian audiovisual translations in order to promote international research proposals and projects with colleagues in the future.

A projekt keretében két nemzetközi konferencián tartottam előadást arról, hogy milyen szerepet tölt be a magyar szinkrondramaturgia William Shakespeare drámáinak fordítástörténete és a magyar kulturális és irodalmi köztudatban való folytonos jelenléte és megőrzése során. A 2022. május 27-29. között “Meaning in Translation: Illusion of Precision” címmel Rigában rendezett konferencián egy magyar nyelven már megjelent, az Ahogy tetszik magyar filmfordításairól szóló tanulmányom kutatási eredményét mutattam be, az Európai Fordítástudományi Társaság oslói kongresszusán való részvételem 2022. június 22-24. között pedig a jelenlegi interdiszciplináris, az irodalom- és fordítástudományt egyaránt érintő kutatási projektem bemutatását (a Shakespeare-adaptációk fordítása a magyar szinkrondramaturgiai hagyományban) tette lehetővé. Összességében elmondható, hogy a pályázatban leírt vállalások maradéktalanul teljesültek, és a dologi költségek fedezésére igényelt pályázati támogatás pedig felhasználásra került.

Within the scope of this project, I have presented two international conference papers on the role of Hungarian dubbing practices in the translation history of Shakespearean drama and its preservation of Hungarian cultural and literary heritage. At the conference entitled “Meaning in Translation: Illusion of Precision” organized by the Technical University of Riga between 27 and 29 May 2022, my conference talk shared the academic outcome of a paper that I had published in Hungarian about the Hungarian dubbing of the film adaptations of As You Like It, while my second conference paper presented at the Oslo congress of the European Society for Translation Studies between 22 and 24 June 2022 summed up the results of my ongoing interdisciplinary research, which combines analytic methods of both literary and translation studies, about the legacy of audiovisual translation practices of Shakespeare adaptations in Hungary. In conclusion, the objectives of the project have been completely reached and the financial support has been used in accordance with the grant contract.
